I like the concept as well, not to mention warm colors blended very nice in your piece. 
But there's something that buggs me about it:
~ On the yellow stripe to the left of your WP, you have some swirly brush effects, and japanese letters. They shouldn't be together at all. Besides, swirly brush on it's own doesn't look complete (as if there's something missing).
Maybe if you put only those kanji letters, it would look better IMO.
~ On the other hand, you used the swirls very well in other parts of your wallpaper.
