What really defines the Final Fantasy tradition. I mean you could go down the list of things and say that Cid,Chocobos,Mogs, magic, summons, etc. make the game. It's NOT a FF game without Cid in there somewhere. He has been in all the games, and will probably for a long time. but would you consider FF8 being a true Final Fantasy game? It does have cid, magic, chocobos, etc. but it doesnt have that sense of Fantasy, when i picture Fantasy i think mage's and pointy hats, not guns, and things of the technical sort, sure some technology adds to the flavor of the game, (a society torn between the old and the new) but all the way towards technical is not the was to go. let me know what you think makes a FF game. |
