I am probably one of Nobuo Uematsu's greatest fans, and thus I try to get as many of the FF soundtracks as possible. I plan on buying the CD of the 20020220 concert as soon as it is released.
Does anyone else enjoy the soundtracks? If so, post some of your favorites and say why. |

I do! I love them.. I'd have to debate over the fact of you being the number one Nobuo Uematsu fan.
I've been trying to find an alternate source for FF cd's.. Where do you get yours? I've tried tokyopop, but it's not a whole lot. |

TokyoPop is the only one that gives us US releases. Usually, I'm at the mercy of the local retailer (Babbage's, Collector's Lair) to get my CD's, as my mother refuses to use her credit card online and I've been unable to finagle a checking account of my own.
If you're able, I reccomend http://www.gamemusic.com . Also, if you use the Yahoo shopping resource (or any other random shopping site) you'll occassionally find a better price, but gamemusic.com is your best bet.
If nothing else, you can download them from Kazaa or Morpheus, but that takes time, effort, and they are often incomplete.
As for the debate on whether you're the bigger Uematsu fan... Bring it on! I knew his name before I knew Hironobu Sakaguchi's! |

I'm quite in love with Uematsu's excellent music and soundtracks. Over the past few years, my collection of his CD's has grown quite a fair bit. Here are the CD's that are currently in my collection:
- Final Fantasy VII OST
- Final Fantasy VIII OST
- Final Fantasy IX OST
- Final Fantasy X OST
- Final Fantasy Pray
- Final Fantasy IX OST Plus
- Melodies of Life (Single)
- Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within OST (It's not Nobuo, but it's good)
- Final Fantasy Potion
- Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec
- Suteki Da Ne (Single)
I shall have to purchase more.
I also buy from Gamemusic.com. Reliable, aren't they? |

I currently own:
FFVII OST
FFIX TokyoPop
FFX TokyoPop
ChronoTrigger TokyoPop (Uematsu actually composed a song for this...)
The Bouncer OST (Not Uematsu, but it is Square)
FF VIII: Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec
FF: TSW movie soundtrack (I agree that this is a fantastic soundtrack)
I would probably murder for the FFX OST. I also desire the FFX Piano Collections and the Chrono Cross OST. Unfortunately, these are mere dreams. |

| What are these TokyoPop soundtracks you speak of, Adan? |

| They aren't the full OST releases of the games; they were the CD's designed for release in America by TokyoPop. The full OST's you have to import, although you can do that through gamemusic.com. They usually have the most popular songs on there, as well as a few of the composer's favorites, and occasionally a bonus song. Generally, the OST's are better to go with. |

Thanks for the information. I don't like it when I find out that my collection isn't complete.

I love the Square(soft) Soundtracks, not only of the FF games but of their other games, too.
My fave albums:
FF: Pray
FF: Love will grow
Chrono Cross OST
Chrono Trigger OST
FF7 OSV
FF8 Piano Collection
Xenogears OST & Creid
As for some of my all-time fave songs....
FF6 worldmap music
FF7 > aeris' theme, cosmo canyon, underwater song, weapons attack song, rufus' fanfare, end-FMV music, and a few others...
Chrono Cross's intro and Radical Dreamers (vocal song)
CT's songs > Frog theme, Guardia theme, Crono theme, and a whole bunch of others..
Legend of Mana: forgot all about their names, and too lazy to look 'm up, but there's 7 or 8 or so of 'm that are just brilliant.
Xenogears ~ oich, I think I'll just label these three cd's as 100% brilliance. Not a song on there that I don't classify as simply Amazing. |
