Hello just as the title suggests I want to know if you have to level up or to get the nicest weapons in a FF title to finish it. For FFXII I've experienced that a single weapon can make a difference(Tournesol,excalibur,etc.) so do you only need weapons?

i think in FFXII, its true, the better armour, weapons you have is more important than the level, compared to other FF games anyway.

In ff12 it all depends.

At low lvls very good weapons like the tournesol, Excalibur, and Zodiac spear do very little damage.
( at lvl 1 a knot of rust can do more damage XD )

It really depends on what game you're playing, in my opinion. In a game like FF8 levels don't matter at all if you junction properly. Then in a game which has a higher difficulty like FF4 DS if you don't level up properly, you'll get killed lol.
