| I didn't care all that much for Barret in FFVII. In FFVIII, it was Irvine, I really didn't like him. In FFIX it was Eiko or Steiner . In FFX.... I liked everyone actually as well as FFX-2 for playable characters. In FFXII, Basch was okay, but definitely not one of my favorites. |

You forgot Tifa, Quistis, and Beatrix.
All strong, independent women get shifted to the backseat, when compared to the love interest and the spunky innocent.
Tifa is the only exception to that rule, but only because she got more screen time than Yuffie. |
