I have full proof guarenteed way to defeat that bastard and since most people find him annoying, I think it'll help.
[keep in mind, the following is the cheap way to killing him. If you don't like unfair advantages don't use it]
First of all, before the battle you should have the formation list open and you can see all of your characters. You will only need to play around with Ramza, you will not use any other characters.
1. Change Ramza'a job to a monk (reccomended abilities- Chakra)
2. Give Ramza the Guts ability as his secondary action ability. (required Yell, Accumulate)
3. Ramza should have the abilities MP switch and Move-MP+. (I also used defense up, just for extra protection)
4. I reccomend doing this while Ramza is level 40+. I did it when he was 43-44.
Explanation:
Upon starting the battle, you'll know that Ramza goes one-on-one with Wiegraf. If Wiegraf goes first, he'll use Lightning Stab. But it won't do any damage, you see, MP Switch changes HP damage to MP damage (meaning you'll loose MP instead of HP). Upon your next turn, use Yell and move away from Wiegraf. Your speed will increase and upon moving, you'll recover some MP. Now, Wiegraf will attack but once again do no damage to your HP because you recovered the MP. Once again use Yell and repeat the process of moving (to recover MP) and yelling (to increase speed). You'll want to yell until you can take about 5-6 turns in a row. Once you can take 5-6 turns in a row start useing Accumulate instead of yell but repeat the process of moving and accumulating. Now, you'll stay vunerable to all of his attacks and increase your attack power. Eventually, his attacks will do HP damage to you dispite having MP switch, but that is okay. By the time he can do damage you should have at least 4 turns in a row down. In this situation, use chakra to restore the lost HP.
Keep accumulating till you can do 999 damage with a physical attack (you can check how much damage you'll do by selecting attack on Wiegraf and then clicking the okay button again to attack him. Don't attack him if the attack damage isn't 999 though.) Once it is 999, kill him. Now your ready for Velius.
Luckily, you won't have to do any of what you did previously but just attack (this is because, your stats don't change back after the Wigraf battle).
You'll see the scene with wigraf changing to Velius via Holy Stone and you'll engage battle. All you have to do, is go up to Velius (preferably behind him) and attack once. He's dead, and you'll win. |
