It is a super-dumbed down version of what Squaresoft uses to make maps.
And I am sure they code things much better. But it pretty much does what the title implies. Make RPGs. It takes alot of proctice to make a good RPG and alot of patience.
You can create random, or un-random battle (I.E: Chrono Trigger) and it has many features that will remind you of Final Fantasy.

Go to that link, and browse their forums for some good stuff, along with links to the websites I was speaking of.
It's worth learning I think, and you can create your very own RPG! Make maps, characters, items, abilities, battle animation, menu systems, battle systems. Pretty much anything you can think of.
I am currently making my RPG, and it's taking forever, 'cause it's my first one. But I was able to get FF Character animations, so I can walk around in my game as Cloud. He is my De-Bugger! lol.
I also got Sephiroth, Aeris, Cid... You name it, someone has made a file you can d/l into RPGMaker2K, so that you can use it in your game.
You can even build your worldmap outta things from different games. My worldmap is built outta FF6 rips. So I have FF6 water buildings... ect..ect.. It's great!

| RPG Maker 2000 is a good program, if you know how to use it well. Otherwise it can be a time-consuming-*****, that'll fustrate you. If you don't know how to program, then it's the next best thing to have. |

| I disagree. You don't need any programming knowledge to use RPG Maker 2000. I don't have any programming knowledge myself, and I can make a fantastic game using RPG2K. It's such a versatile program, and it's very customisable. I advise everyone to download it - it's great fun to use. |

| I used to have an old version of this on my 166MHZ, but it was all in Japanese, so it was hard to use. |

| I've been using it on and off for a few years... Its pretty easy, with time, but there are some things you are pretty screwed if you don't know. Switches, for example... without them, you can't remove things from the game completely... |

| I've never heard of it. Where do you get it? what are the system requirements, since my computer sucks? I assume that you can actually play the RPG's after you make them without any other software. |
