Oh I saw the video you posted two posts ago, it seemed like they are trying to add more backstory to this one, or that's what I suppose the parts with civilian clothes are about.
In the second video, I couldn't get over how smug the developers were. I guess it's good to be happy with your product, but they seem really faggy about it.

Infinity Ward Responds To Modern Warfare 2 Complaints
The ongoing gamer-controversy of the week is the outcry from PC Gamers over online play in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Rather than offer dedicated servers for the upcoming war-game, Infinity Ward is instead opting for a matchmaking setup powered by IWNET. This will give PC users an experience that's similar to console multiplayer, and basically do away with player-run servers. PC gamers, a notoriously picky bunch to be fair, have responded with many angry internet posts and an online petition signed by over 100,000 people.
As you could probably expect, Infinity Ward has responded to the complaints officially, noting that the changes to PC multiplayer will be better in the following ways:
* Matchmaking will be improved, as will finding faster servers
* Playlists and Private Matches: Custom rules can be applied without patches
* Adds a Party System and Friendslist
* Cheat / Hack Free Games: Makes it much harder to exploit
Read the details for yourself here: Modern Warfare 2 For PC
As you'd expect, the comment section on Infinity Ward's blog is filled with very angry comments from PC users posting things like, "I want to meet these mythical creatures who have difficulty navigating a server browser " and "now i'm completly sure i wont buy this game." The general mood seems to be: "Sorry. Not good enough."

Play as a Terrorist?
Footage from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 leaked onto the Internet yesterday, and if you thought the lack of dedicated PC servers were the big controversy in regards to this game, you're in for a huge surprise. The leaked gameplay footage reveals that you'll be able to play part of the game as a terrorist.
Heavy spoilers ahead, obviously. The footage has since been pulled from YouTube, but part of it is still up on CNN's iReport site. In the level (reportedly the beginning of the game), the player is with a group of men who murder innocent civilians in an airport. The level seems to consist primarily of capping innocent people, including the clearly injured who are trying in vain to hobble away as you shoot them in the back. This is where CNN's video ends. Based on other internet reports, after the airport killing spree, the group then exit to the tarmac where they pass a pile of dead bodies, and shoot some cops. Eventually, the main terrorist, Makarov, murders the player with a shot to the head. It's strong stuff.
When asked if the footage would be in the game, Activision released a statement to the press, saying:
“Yes it is. The scene establishes the depth of evil and the cold bloodedness of a rogue Russian villain and his unit. By establishing that evil, it adds to the urgency of the player’s mission to stop them.
“Players have the option of skipping over the scene. At the beginning of the game, there are two ‘checkpoints’ where the player is advised that some people may find an upcoming segment disturbing. These checkpoints can’t be disabled.
“Modern Warfare 2 is a fantasy action game designed for intense, realistic game play that mirrors real life conflicts, much like epic, action movies. It is appropriately rated 18 for violent scenes, which means it is intended for those who are 18 and older.”

Here comes the backlash....in Australia anyway:
Modern Warfare 2 lets you play as a terrorist. There are other bits in there too – something about “defending freedom” and “delivering a swift kick to terrorism’s hindquarters” – but those don’t matter. At least, not according to Australian lobbyist group Australian Council on Children and the Media.
“The consequences of terrorism are just abhorrent in our community and yet here we are with a product that’s meant to be passed off as a leisure time activity, actually promoting what most world leaders speak out publicly against,” council president Jane Roberts told the Sydney Morning Herald.
“If that material was on the internet about how to become a terrorist, how to join a group and how to wipe out people – that would be removed because it would not be acceptable.”

Amazon Looking For "Duty-est" Town
After all the recent controversy regarding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, please enjoy the following friendly story about the game; it contains no controversy.
Amazon.com is holding a contest looking for the "Call of Duty-est Town in America." Using the most recent U.S. Census data for U.S. towns and cities with a population of more than 5,000 people, Amazon is looking for the town that has pre-ordered the game more times than any other, per capita. Right now, Grand Forks, North Dakota is number one with Urbana, Il coming in second. Check out the full list. The winning burgh will have $5000 in Amazon credit donated to a charity that benefits the town.
See? There is no controversy here! But feel free to create some by getting angry about some aspect of this contest in our comment section. Personally, I want to protest this contest because "Duty-est Town in America" sounds like "Doodiest Town in America," and what are they trying to say about Vero Beach, Florida and Beaverton, Oregon anyway?

The Controversy Continues: Modern Warfare 2 Video Raises Concerns
Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is quickly gaining pre-release notoriety as a center of controversy. First, there was the "No dedicated servers for PC users" flap (although, truth be told, that's more of an inside-gamer thing, not likely to be of interest to the larger culture), then the leaked video that showed that, for at least one level, you inhabit the body of someone taking part in a terroristic bloodbath in an airport. Today, there's a "viral" style promo video for Modern Warfare 2 that is, at best, in questionable taste.
The video was posted on YouTube over the weekend and stars a digitized version of Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels delivering a mock-PSA about "grenade spam." The ad ends with the phrase "random grenades are for p*ssies." It is followed with a credit message saying the PSA was brought to you by "Fight Against Grenade Spam." You can figure out why the fake organization's name is offensive for yourself.
Infinity Ward pulled the video, and community Manager Robert Bowling tweeted that the ad was "more of a social commentary joke of that stereotype than it was a fist-bump of acceptance to it." Right. So Infinity Ward says it was just mocking the people who hold homophobic views as opposed to actually being homophobic... except I've seen the video, and there's nothing in it to indicate this is the case.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Sets GameStop Pre-Order Record
Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is still a week away from being released, but it's already breaking records. As USA Today reports, the game has set a new pre-order record at mega-retailer GameStop. No official numbers were released, or what the previous record holder was, but I’m waiting to hear back from GameStop, so I’ll keep you posted.
Looking ahead to the game’s release, the retailer’s executive vice president for merchandising and marketing, Tony Bartel, also predicts that Modern Warfare 2 will be "the biggest entertainment launch of all time.” The current record holder is Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto IV, which sold 3.6 million copies and brought in $310 million on launch day.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare sold around 2 million copies in its first month of release back in 2007, so it will be interesting to see what kinds of numbers the sequel does, since, basically, it will have to sell around twice as many copies in one day as the previous game sold in its entire first month of release. That would be mighty impressive, but if there was one title this holiday season capable of pulling that off, it would be this one.

Infinity Ward "Doesn't Feel Tied" To Call Of Duty Franchise Forever
Call of Duty was released in 2003. Infinity Ward has been making new entries in the Call of Duty series ever since, but the studio told Develop it doesn't feel obligated to continue making new entries in the Call of Duty franchise. That doesn't mean we won't see further Call of Duty games from Infinity Ward, but there's no guarantee the company will keep making them, either.
"We take it game-by-game," explained Infinity Ward community manager and headline maker Robert Bowling. "We never worry about the future too much. Right now we wanted to make a sequel, so the entire team is hands on deck for making Modern Warfare 2. Then once this is done, maybe we’ll see about doing something new. If we do want to do something else, then we will do it. We don’t feel tied to making Call of Duty games. We still make Call of Duty games because we’re having fun doing it. And when it stops being fun, we’ll move onto something else."
Infinity Ward has denied the long-rumored sci-fi shooter the developer was said to be working on.

More variety than a chinese restaurant's menu... Nice...
I'm a big fan of the baby eagle too. When A gun's designation is "Jericho", then it kicks ass.
