So Metal Gear Solid 4 is out, but as we've reported before, it isn't the last Metal Gear game. We'll be getting more stealth-action in the future!
Kojima Production's Ryan Payton explains, "There are some misunderstandings that this is the final Metal Gear game. But it's really the final chapter of the Solid Snake story. That's all."
What's left to do? Well, according to Payton, there is "still a lot of room for filling in the gaps as far as Big Boss is concerned."
But will we see another game with Big Boss as the protagonist? Hit the break for my thoughts, but there are spoilers for Metal Gear Solid 4 beyond this point.
If you want to read the whole thing and the spoilers heres the link cause i dont want to spoil anything for anyone

Part of the point of Metal Gear Solid 2 was to introduce a new protagonist for when Kojima eventually stopped being in charge - they covered this in the "making of" DVD that came with the game. But obviously, this was all said before the massive backlash against the character, so maybe they feel it's safer to use Big Boss. Even though Raiden as a character isn't actually all that bad.

Finally! A Boss fight.

yeah i liked Raiden and that was one of the possiblities that they threw out there was a story about Raiden between the 2 and 4th one if you didnt read the spoilers which i wouldnt blame ya

Although Hideo Kojima stated Metal Gear Solid 4 will be the last game to be directed by him, he said that Metal Gear must live on. He has stated Metal Gear Solid 4 will be the last game for Solid Snake, but the series will live on. He will not be directing anymore, and if he will be involved with the productions of future Metal Gears, he would only take a role as a producer.

The next installment in the legendary Metal Gear Solid series is currently in production, as former Kojima Productions producer Ryan Payton said to Kotaku that Metal Gear Solid 5 will be yet "another blockbuster game":
"It'll be hard not being involved in MGS5, but I've got the utmost confidence that Hideo Kojima, Ken Imaizumi, and our amazing team will put together another blockbuster game. I'll be cheering from the sidelines."

Kojima has mentioned many times that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots would be Solid Snake's final mission, but as we all know, the epic soldier is not yet ready for a retirement plan. MGS4, released in June 2008, has already been acclaimed by many critics, gamers and fans as the best in the series so far, featuring a timeless storyline and a brand new control scheme--a feature Payton contributed to in the game. Whether the story was good or not, the narrative was indisputably boring. They need to find an interesting way to communicate their plot (besides...exposition...15 hours of exposition).
The Metal Gear Solid 4 Wikipedia entry was more entertaining than MGS4's cut-scenes.

Metal Gear mastermind Hideo Kojima said that three concepts for the Solid series's still yet-to-be announced fifth installment are already lurking within his mind. But, is he willing to step in again and be involved in the title's development? In 1UP's feature interview with the man himself, Kojima said:
"I would like to just make a new game, and the younger staff can work on the new MGS projects...I have three concepts for MGS5 already. What would be ideal for me with MGS5, though, is that we don't do those. If the team picks one of those concepts, I have to get involved again, which I don't want to do. There are already so many good ideas from the staff, so if we select one of those, that would be really good. At that point I could really rely on them and take the step back to be the producer, which is the ideal situation, I think."
Well, as long as you say you trust your staff Kojima-san, we're up for it. Old Snake's latest (but not last?) mission in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is now available exclusively for the PS3. Make sure you hit the source for the rest of the interview.

I found this plot line and title for mgs5 which came out 3 days ago now, does anyone know if this is real? a lot of people are saying its true becaues they said there was some sort of leak. anywho here it is : Metal Gear Solid 5 Chronicles of Solid: An old snake fringes hope of retirement but soon finds himself caught up in a new genetic rejuvination programme known as gene corp. With the fall of fox and the beginning of a new age a young snake is born with the task of destroying gene corp's cloning facility which conjured snakes betrayal. The story continues with an all new chapter combining help from old friends and foes creating tactical espionage action in a new age. A new chapter, a new snake, a new beginning!
