seems reasonable to me. the last two may be a little questionable, but it's a tossup, really.

As with all Top lists, i suppose it factors down to the reviewers likes, dislikes- dont know what they are basing the rankings on though: Sales?

Gamasutra have a different list- Top 5 overlooked gems of this year:

5. Chibi-Robo Park Patrol (Nintendo, DS)
4. Dungeon Maker: Hunting Ground (XSEED, PSP)
3. Earth Defense Force 2017 (D3, Xbox 360)
2. Raw Danger! (Irem/Agetec, PS2)
1. Phase (MTV/Harmonix, iPod)

I'm surprised Assassin's Cread didn't make the list.

And does Halo 3 really belong on then list? I mean, sure it's a fun game and all, but it's not as if the move from Halo 2 to 3 was bigger than the improvements that they did for Perfect Dark compared to Goldeneye 007...

it's a matter of quality and substance, really. games don't have to be revolutionary to be good, and Halo is a good example of this.

oh Halo 3 on top...never seen that anywhere before!! *sarcasm*. Good for 14-18 yr old microsoft fanboys but it ends there.

I may re order a few but those games seem fine to me. Although Assassin's Creed isn't up there but meh. Mass Effect I feel should be higher up and the last two seem a bit strange but the first God of War was good and the sequel was apparently amazing.

Too true, games dont have to be revolutionary now- maybe just tweaked every now and then to let a series continue.

Not every game can be a hallmark moment in a chapter of videogame history.
