Yoda vs Vadars apprentice vids:
Naturally, being a huge Star Wars fan, the first character I chose was Yoda (PS3 users get Darth Vader). My initial impressions of the game are that it is quite solid, and controls a lot better then Soul Calibur III did. Graphics are "Impressive," as Darth Vader would say. The music is easily as good as the past Soul Calibur games, and even the voices are better then in the past. Being someone that was not impressed by the early previews, Soul Calibur IV has turned out to be quite the 3d fighter.

Its out now!
The next iteration of one of the biggest, fan favorite, fighting game is now in stores (or soon will be in your area)! Soulcalibur IV brings all of the 3D fighting that fans know and love it for, but mixes it up in this version with a huge character creator and the inclusion of a couple special characters. Fans of Star Wars will be pleased to know that Darth Vader will be playable in the PS3 version, with Yoda making an appearance on the 360! If the rumors are to be believed there is hushed talk of DLC that will bring the non existent Jedi to your version.

rumour making the rounds is that Yoda and Vadar will become downloadable content:
The rumor for today states that Yoda and Vader might become pieces of downloadable content for the respective Soul Calibur 4 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) version they aren't in.
Tuesday saw some pictures floating around the internet where Yoda looked to be fighting Vader. This, under the current circumstances, is impossible, seeing as they've been placed on opposing consoles, so Namco Bandai must have their own way of placing the both characters in the game. Writes GamePro:
The evidence was witnessed at a Soul Calibur IV launch party by GamePro's own Sid Shuman, as well as by gaming site Gamer Reports, which posted character select screen images of Darth Vader on the Xbox 360. Namco Bandai, publisher of the Soul Calibur series, had the images removed, telling the site the content was "unauthorized in-development material taken from the game."

Downloadable content already....
Namco Bandai have started releasing content for Soul Calibur IV which has just released in North America this Tuesday. The new content which has just hit the Xbox Live Marketplace includes:
• Customization Equipment (100 MS Points)
• Downloadable Music Complete Set (1200 MS Points)
• Downloadable Music Tracks 1-17 (80 MS Points Each)
We are expecting it to hit the PSN later today as well.

i wouldn't be surprised if you don't, I used to have a heartless avatar before I changed it today, and looking through my pms we talked about dynasty warriors a lot. |
