How many characters can you fit in a game? Well at least one more it seems.
Remember that mysterious white haired, heavily scarred individual from the Soul Calibur IV UbiDays Transcendence Trailer? Well, according to a recently leaked image, this imposing combatant is apparently known as Algol.
From what we've heard, Algol may in fact be the original posessor of Soul Edge, however, nothing has been confirmed as of yet. We were also told Algol could be one of the bosses in Soul Calibur IV

Kratos may be revealed as yet ANOTHER character in SCIV but exclusive to the PS3 version of the game:
According to the rumor mill in the August issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, Kratos is to appear as a PS3 exclusive character in Soul Calibur IV.
The magazine states that Kratos will be the next PS3 character revealed, so if the rumor is in fact true, we should be seeing something soon. Also, this will be the first look at Kratos on next gen hardware, and possibly a first glimpse at what to expect from God of War III. Obviously if Kratos appears in SCIV, Namco has cut some deal with Sony, and could be sharing actual assets or character concepts from the upcoming PS3 exclusive.
Update: We have received word from Namco Bandai on the recent rumor, however as you'd expect, the PR department cannont comment or confirm the rumor.
"We don't comment on rumors or speculations," said Namco Bandai representative.
Nevertheless, stay tuned to PSU.com, as we will be posting our exclusive interview with Namco Bandai later this week which will provide all new details on Soul Calibur IV.

| that would mean 360 will get a unique exclusive character as well, if this is true at all. any guesses as to who it might be? |

Kratos would be a much, much better addition than Vader and Yoda. It would just seem less forced and gimmicky. And Kratos is bound to be lolbroke.
I would speculate any 360 exclusive character would probably be a Halo tie-in, since the Halo IP belongs to Microsoft and we've had Spartans in DOA.
...
I just got this horrible image of SCIV being marketed as a "pick your favourite Spartan" game - Kratos or Master Chief? |

| i'd actually rather not see a spartan because we've already put one into another series. it's the same reason Ryu Hyabusa would work, but is unlikely to appear. speaking of the Halo universe though, perhaps the Arbiter would work. his energy sword wouldn't be any more out of place than the lightsabers, and i think he makes more sense considering this is weapon-based combat. |

Ps3 version on par with the Xbox360 one apparently:
Namco Bandai Games Director Katsutoshi Sasaki has confirmed to us that the PlayStation 3 version of the upcoming Soul Calibur IV is running on par with its Xbox 360 counterpart.
Earlier this year, hands on previews reported that the PS3 version of the game had some “significant slowdown." However, after a few extra months of development, Sasaki assured us that both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are identical.
"There is no difference," said Sasaki. "At the first stage of development, the goal was to have no gameplay differences on either hardware and our programmers actually made it come true. Quite frequently, we forget and grab the wrong controller when looking at the screen."
