As i posted in Kios Bully thread, the Italian version of Jack Thompson, the EUs Justice Commisionef Franco Frattini has already managed to get Rule of Rose from Rome with the Mayors support.

http://www.computerandvideogames.com...49324&skip=yes

Frattini is reported to have said "an increasing number of such games display and even glorify violence, sometimes extreme violence. In particular one of the latest games (The Rule of Rose) relates to a young girl who becomes submitted to psychological and physical violence. This has shocked me profoundly for its obscene cruelty and brutality."

Seems like it might not be just hot air as he will be seeing the Home Affairs ministers EU countries to see what they can try
and do.

Rule of Rose hasnt really set the world alight but what happens when actually quality games get targeted?

What are you thoughts and opinions on the psychological, mental and violence themes that are prevelant in games and Politicians reactions to it?

I think it's retarded, just like censorship of other media is. If you don't want your kids to play violent games, don't buy violent games for them.

Well, at least this time they picked a game that has some "controversial" content instead of just arbitrarily ganging up on Rockstar's latest.

Still... it's a load of ****. It's survival horror, people. It's not all unicorns and gumdrops.

Which reminds me... I still need to pick up a copy of this game...

I've never even heard of that game before. PR!

and yeah, I'm pretty sure that everyone our age agrees that its stupid. I might actually be worried if there were only violent games, but there aren't. There are so many good game without violence, or at least gratuitous violence, not it is far from being a saturated market.

If you think something is too violent for yourself or your children, then stay the **** away from it. its not difficult to not buy something. and if you are one of those "my kid will get it without me knowing" parents, then you need to reevaluate your parenting.

Sucks for the UK... For once I am actually glad I live in the U.S. I want that game as soon as the price comes down a bit more.
