So i just watch the new trailer that was on G4 and the game looks really good cant wait
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Also i just say on the Feed on G4 people have been callin the new game racist heres the article:
Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi wants to set the record straight about the game and has responded to calls that the game's imagery is racist or inappropriate.
To this charge, he replies, "No, not really." Furthermore, the initial outrage "didn't have any effect on the game design."
"In terms of the reaction, we're in the business of entertainment," he said. "We didn't set out to make a racist game or a political statement. We did feel there was a misunderstanding about the initial trailer."
Do you believe him?
In the most recent trailer, we see a new character that is more ethnically ambiguous and questions were raised about her inclusion. Was she a product of this outcry?
"We wanted Chris to have a partner who was familiar with the environment. She's been in there since pretty much the beginning," explains Takeuchi.
Apparently not. So, there's your answer. Resident Evil 5 is not racist. Move along

I dont think this will go away, even with the introduction of the new ethnic partner. Theyll always be someone who finds something wrong...
Chris is buffed up apparently:
Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi has admitted that Chris’s character model in the game’s been pumped up on the muscle front.
“With Chris, one of the things we tried to do was create a character design that’s buffed up,” he said, presumably speaking at last week’s CAPTIVATE08 event in Las Vegas.
“He’s a little tougher. In tandem with that he’s going to have some different moves.”

No Pc version of Resi Evil 5?
Those hoping for a PC release of Capcom's upcoming zombie rampage Resident Evil 5 (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360) shouldn't get their hopes up any longer. Apparently, a gaming website Spong quoted Capcom's Keiji Inafune in an interview with the following juicy reference to a Resident Evil 5 for the PC:
As for Resident Evil 5, all we’ve done is shown the trailer and we’ve been instructed not to say anything more to anybody...not just you press guys ... anyone. Other than it is scheduled for release next year on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
When contacted for clarification, however, Capcom said that Resident Evil 5 is slated only for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. "Our UK office will be following up with Spong to have this corrected," Capcom said about the issue. It's sad, yes, but do take note that this is not an outright "no" statement - there's still a chance that yes, Capcom will do Devil May Cry 4 and publish a PC version of RE5 - with all the good stuff thrown in.

For those that havent seen the vid i posted earlier, heres is the info that the producer reveals, even giving some plot details away....
Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi has revealed that he had “no choice” but to set the upcoming survival horror title in Africa due to the game’s story revolving around the origins of the Progenitor Virus.
Speaking with Game Videos, Takeuchi stated, "The main reason that we chose Africa as the setting for Resident Evil 5 is actually from a clue that came up in Resident Evil: Code Veronica, where it was revealed that Africa was the original of the Progenitor Virus, which is the origin of all the viruses that appear in the series.”
Elsewhere, he also divulged a few tidbits on main protagonist, Chris Redfield, confirming that he is no longer part of the Special Tactics and Rescue Service (S.T.A.R.S) team from the original Resident Evil title, and now belongs to a new organisation, currently identified as ‘BSAA.’
“It's been ten years since the events of Resident Evil 1. One little hint we can give you is that Chris is no longer a member of S.T.A.R.S. and S.T.A.R.S. itself as an organisation is defunct,” added Takeuchi.
“You might see a little mark on his arm that talks about the new organisation that he's a member of. Who that organisation is and what they're up to, that's going to be another important element of the story."

This is very much a rumour...
Sev1512 of PlayStationLifeStyle.net writes:
"Please take this as a rumor as that's all it is at this point. No solid information on the subject yet.
From what I have been told, Microsoft is looking to pay Capcom an undisclosed amount, for timed exclusivity of Resident Evil 5. It is still not known if Capcom has accepted the offer… The information we got, was only that Microsoft has made the offer.
If this is going to be announced it will be @ E3. Similar to the GTAIV "showing of the tattoo" a couple of years ago.
It this is true, all of you petition fanatics out there better get to work.
Remember this is just a rumor, and nothing is known for sure at this time."

Another issue that wont go away...OPM Uk say that Capcom are going to add more white enemies into the game to avoid well, you know...!
According to the latest issue of the Official Playstation Magazine (UK) Capcom are to add more white enemies into Resident Evil 5.
A lot of gamers were very unhappy and felt Resident Evil 5 is racist towards African people.
“…gunning down mobs of angry Africans could be ’subtly racist’…It’s not just that these zombies are black, but that the uninfected black villagers are zombie-like too,”
“See all those spooky shots of the villagers before they get infected? It’s as if race itself were a disease. The white protagonist has to fight back or be infected.”
Quotes from Gamespot.
Well yes, according to the magazine Capcom are to add more white people/enemies into the game. Capcom has responded to the racist accusation, maybe this is one of their ‘big’ E3 announcements?

The voice of Wesker, Dc Douglas, who replaced Richard Waugh, has spoken about a few things- even hints of Resi Evil 5:
Albert Wesker is an amalgamation of several actors over the years, as well as what the different producers and directors have wanted. Richard started the character, but others have added to it. When I auditioned for the role, they played a sound bite from Peter Jessop's performance. But in the session, they played Richard Waugh sound bites. Obviously I have my own sound as well. And the director and current producers have a particular sound in their minds, also! So, I have to juggle ALL those balls to give the performance you hear. And this newest RE installment has additional requirements that were quite a challenge and alter the voice some - but I'm not at liberty to say what they are... Just that it's VERY cool.
So, please know that I respect Richard Waugh's work. The role wasn't stolen from him. It was merely the result of Capcom moving post production to Los Angeles (Waugh is in Canada). I also respect Peter Jessop immensely. We have the same agent and I see him occasionally. He was quite gracious.

the unknown female mercernary, which you can see in the scan at the link and has been seen in clips, finally has a name:
Sheva Alomar
The scan above shows some of the more choice screenshots with Sheva on it, including some of the heavy duty armaments she'll be packing for this zombie-filled adventure. She certainly resembles a certain cave-spelunking, brunette bombshell with those double pistols she's wielding.
In any case, we'll most certainly see more of her and the other characters of Resident Evil 5 when Capcom showcases the game, along with several others, in the upcoming E3 2008. Resident Evil 5 is currently slated to be released by 2009 for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.

nice one capcom- they refuse to cut the gore to obtain a lower rating. quite right too!
Capcom has promised that Resident Evil 5 is not about to shy away from gore in a bid to get a lower age certification.
“We’re never going to create a gore-free Resident Evil title to try and get a lower rating as it’s a game about the horror experience and gore is part of that,” said Rhys Cash, Capcom UK's research and planning manager.
“We’re primarily about making great games and if it’s appropriate to the title we won’t shy away from making a 15+ or 18+ title.”
He also stated that despite factors like the popularity of DS and Wii leading the industry away from adult titles to some extent, those consoles can still support 18+ titles:
“As we’ve shown with Resident Evil 4 Wii and Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles there’s still a market for more mature titles even on these formats.”
“There’s no reason why an appropriate adult title should be seen as something to be shied away from. What I do see publishers moving away from is titles whose only raison d'ętre is ‘adult themes’ and only goal is to shock,” Cash added.
