surely killzone should be banned too as the hellghast (was that them?) resembled nazis. i mean you can't say you dont see the comparions there. and that speech at the start of the first game. kind of like communist nazis though haha.

Quoth Jimmy!!:
That's pathetic, considering RE racist...if they consider RE to be racist, then what about Medal of Honour like warlock-billy said? And GTA for example? Or movies like Pearl Harbor, and so on.
And if killing black zombies is racist, then what about killing white zombies, asian zombies, old lady zombies? That's just completely stupid.
So what can they do in order to not make Resident Evil look racist lol!? Add more black characters? Make the zombies blue or green so nobody can say they were offended? Please...

This is another good point. Heck for all we know, a critic could have easily called Resident Evil 1 racist because of the first dead body that we see of Kenneth of the S.T.A.R.S. Bravo team is found dead first (besides Joseph of the Alpha team). As I said on people taking the politcal correctness too far to the extreme, they could just call anything racist as long as they look for elements in a game or movie that may be considered racist.

Resi Evil boss explains setting, among other things:
Jun Takeuchi has explained that the controversial African setting for Resident Evil 5 came from a desire to show you the origins of the virus you were battling.
"We settled on the fact that we really wanted to show the origins of the virus. So for the setting we thought, how about the place where humankind was born?" Takeuchi told Famitsu.
"Well, I'm not a scientist, so I don't know how things might change in the future, but we thought we would use Africa, which is now called the birthplace of humanity, as the model."
Resident Evil 5 has come a long way in the six months since it was last shown, apparently, with Takeuchi and his team exploring all sorts of weather conditions and passages of time to mix things up.
The sun-drenched desert village setting also gave the team a chance to capitalise on the lighting system that imitates your eyes; taking a while to adjust to bright areas when stepping out of the dark and vice versa.
"I've seen a lot of Western developers who've used light as a motif in their games, and I'm always keeping my eye on many different games, but I still believe that we at Capcom are the best," said Takeuchi.
"The fact that you can't see into the shadow is nothing major for a Biohazard title, but for any other game it would make creating the [gameplay] itself very difficult; you can't see your enemies, you can't see any items, you can't see your surroundings.
"But for a Biohazard game that is a quintessential part of the game itself. By focusing on that element we're able to escalate the player's fear of the darkness."
Takeuchi went on to reveal that the game system used is very similar to Resident Evil 4, but with added frills, although he was coy about exactly what those were.
There will be plenty more weaponry this time around as well. The original "Biohazard plan" was to limit your weaponry to make you think about what you were shooting, but the sheer amount of baddies in Resident Evil 5 means your arsenal will have to expand to cope.
The hand-to-hand fighting system from Resi 4 will be returning, too, but with more variations.
You will also get the chance to learn more about main character Chris Redfield and what he has been doing in the ten years since STARS disbanded.
"Everything he'd experienced in the past ten years we wanted to be able to allow the player to experience as well, so we're preparing a few ways to encourage the player to do just that," added Takeuchi.
The characters are to be explored in a Biohazard CG movie as well, we're told

New Resi Evil 5 info and scans:
The latest issue of Japan’s Famitsu magazine contains some new information, screenshots and artwork on Capcom’s forthcoming horror epic, Resident Evil 5.
According to the publication, the impact of sunlight in the game continues to play a crucial role, commenting that players will experience multiple instances where they must explore both light and dark locations.
Elsewhere, the magazine also remarks that only three weapons have been confirmed to make an appearance thus far; a combat knife, handgun and sniper rifle. Additionally, it states that the title will feature similar boss encounters to previous instalments, and gives mention to Nosferatu from Resident Evil Code: Veronica as an example.

New Resi Evil 5 trailer coming May30-31st:
Capcom US' official blog has announced that a new trailer for Resident Evil 5 (PS3, Xbox 360) will go live near the end of the month. According to their announcement, the trailer will debut on Gametrailers TV with Geoff Keighley on May 30, or May 31, depending on where you are in the world.
We've checked some additional sources, and Keighley's Gametrailers blog notes that the trailer will go live on the May 30 show of Gametrailers TV. Capcom's blog, on the other hand notes that it'll be up on "Friday night/Saturday morning, May 31 at 1 a.m. EST/PST."
In any event, expect us to put the trailer up on the site as soon as it goes live. Let's just hope that this new trailer doesn't raise controversy like the previous trailer did.

I really enjoyed RE3 which was the first game I played first. That got me to jump quite a few times while making me feel very uncomfortable, haha. After beating that, I played RE:Code Veronica X and then went back and played RE2 and then RE1. probably not the best order, but whatever, it was all cool.
I just watched the RE5 trailer, it looks freakin' amazing!

Yes yes I have! That game was superb! From the looks of it with RE5, I expect it'll be the same if not better.
The one RE game that should have never been made was Survivor, that one sucked BADLY.

Resi Evil 5 to contain online co-op elements?- details are very sketchy to say the least...
GamesRadar has one of the first (as far as I know) English previews of the title, and even if it's confusing as hell to read, it does contain a fair amount of new information. I say its confusing because the preview is all over the place. For example, in the fourth paragraph they use the words "In the areas where you’re separated from your partner," but prior to that there's no mention of a partner at all.
Later, they write "It all depends on whether you’re Player Two or not," which is the first indication that Resident Evil 5 may actually contain multiplayer elements. Then the straight forward bomb is dropped -- "Currently nameless, the mercenary’s inclusion means that, for the first time, you’ll be able to tackle a true Resident Evil game cooperatively online."
Resident Evil 5 to contain online co-op? Yes, please!. Destructoid offers reviews, previews, trailers, cheats, and more.
