These ten games are according to Gamefaqs the ten most important games hat made games popular:

Agree with the games, or the order? What games should be, shouldnt be there?

That was a horrible list. Right this second, I'm running, but I'll make my own list when I get back.

I wouldn't say it was a horrible list, the vast majority of those games really are some of the most important in history, most of them are responsible for breaking video games into the mainstream.

Perhaps. But I'd rate Super Mario III above probably half of them. Taking a better look at the list, I do slightly agree due to the importance, but it's still an ugly list.

What the hell? Super Mario 64?

And there isn't even an RPG on the list...how do you explain the genre's success when there is no game on the #10 most important games? I'd have expected at least a game from each genre, or that would have spawned a genre that became widely popular, but noooo...

reading down the posts a bit, it sounds like that was only a user submitted list, one of very many in fact. either that's incorrect, or that particular source who reported this should be ashamed

List needs moar FF7, OoT (even though I thought they were both terribly overhyped), original Legend of Zelda, Doom, SimCity, Street Fighter II, Dragon Quest I, and GTA3. I guess a top 10 is necessarily going to be quite omissive, though.

Seriously, that Top Ten is quite possibly the most fanboyish thing I've ever seen, in my life.

Agreed, Super Mario 64 should be on that list, and probably the only thing on there (bar Tetris) that actual deservs to be, but it certainly shouldn't be at the top.

Then again, it's based on a GameFaqs poll, so such a level of stupidity is to be expected.
