Milla Jovovich is rumoured to be headlining Clock Tower:
Queue this one under rumor for now, but what our regular tipster has told us is that Milla Jovovich (pictured inside) is now set to play Alyssa Barron in Senator Entertainment and The Weinstein Company's Clock Tower, the adaptation of the best-selling survival horror videogame franchise from Capcom (Resident Evil, Street Fighter). We have NOT confirmed this, so watch this spot for an update. Jovovich has starred in films such as THE FIFTH ELEMENT, the RESIDENT EVIL franchise, ULTRAVIOLET and will be appearing in THE 4TH KIND and A PERFECT GETAWAY. Shooting is scheduled for November in Los Angeles. Read on for a much more details synopsis.
Time stands still at the old Hamilton Inn. On its grounds, a town once took vengeance on a brutal killer - displaying his body from the ghostly hands of the Inn's ominous clock tower for all to see. Known only as the "Scissor Man," the killer's years of silence are about to be broken by a beautiful college coed with a terrifying connection to the old hotel. When 18-year old Alyssa Barron receives a haunting phone call from her estranged birth mother on the eve of her summer vacation, she will find herself almost unwittingly drawn toward the rundown inn and the secret of a mother, a family, and a murder too horrifying to be real. Coming face-to-face with the "Scissor Man" one last time, Alyssa will trade in every luxury of her new life to make one last desperate bid for survival before her time is up!

Paul W.S. Anderson confirms Resi Evil 4 movie:
During an interview with the Sunday Sun, writer-director-producer Paul W.S. Anderson confirmed that not only will a fourth RESIDENT EVIL grace the big screen, but also that he'll be penning the sequel. "I’m writing an adaptation of the LONG GOOD FRIDAY right now, set in present-day Miami. Then I will probably write Resident Evil 4." It's great to hear that the franchise is continuing, but sad to hear that Anderson continue to be so involved. Thankfully he'll be too busy shooting FRIDAY, so expect someone else behind the camera when Alice (or maybe Jill Valentine?) continue to battle the Umbrella Corp.
(maybe not based on resi evil 4 game though)

Jovovich NOT in Clock Tower after all:
While at the taping of the 2008 Scream Awards, we caught up with the Ukrainian actress who tells us that she has passed on the script for the film, which is set to be directed by Martin Weisz next month. No word on whether or not Brittany Snow (Prom Night) is still attached. Another rumor hit our ears as we've been told that Val Kilmer is also circling the project, but slap a rumor stamp on that one until further notice

Army of Two movie confirmed:
EA and Universal have officially confirmed that a movie based on co-op shooter Army of Two is on the cards.
Bourne Ultimatum co-writer Scott Z. Burns is on the project, along with Scott Stuber and, peculiarly, EA both doing the producer job.
Work on the film will begin in 2009, according to reports, which means you probably won't be seeing it for a good while yet.
This follows recent statement from EA Games president Frank Gibeau who, as we reported earlier today, spoke of plans for an Army of Two sequel, while Dead Space executive producer Glenn Schofield confirmed that EA is "talking to movie studios right now" with regards to a Dead Space film.

More Street Fighter films could be coming, depending on the success on the new chun li one:
There has yet to be a really and truly great video game movie. Max Payne was just the latest example of why some stories are better when you're the one shooting the gun, and yet, that isn't stopping studio heads from putting down their Xbox controllers long enough to greenlight yet another adaptation of a video game that will probably suck all of the fun out of it.
Hyde Park Entertainment's CEO Ashok Amritraj is all excited about his company's adaptation of the classic video game Street Fighter, an origin story to be titled Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li. He talked to Collider in an extensive interview this week, and let loose that, if Chun Li is a hit, even more Street Fighter movies will most definitely follow.
"If it works we hope to do Ken and Ryu and so on. But we would do Chun Li and then we’d have Bison and Vega and you know some of the Balrog and all that," Amritraj explained. Having not played Street Fighter since hanging out at Mr. Gatti's pizza place in the mid-90s, I'm assuming those names mean something to some of you. And then are two more big names who would be getting their own movies sooner than later. "I would like to do the Ryu and Ken stories. Again everything is always tied of the performance.
