Uwe Boll wanted to make a WoW movie, but Blizzard flatly denied him...:
The eccentric German director has revealed to MTV that he approached Blizzard Entertainment for the rights to create a movie based on the online wonder that is World of Warcraft.
Boll claims his proposal was refused somewhat impolitely. "I got in contact with [chief operating officer] Paul Sams of Blizzard, and he said, 'We will not sell the movie rights, not to you... especially not to you,'" says Uwe.
Poor guy. Or, as some people would phrase it: "a sad being."
Afraid that their fantasy world would be tarnished by Boll and his inability to make a halfway decent flick, Blizzard did eventually agree to sell the rights for a WoW movie to Legendary Pictures; the same studio behind productions such as 300, Batman Begins, the upcoming The Dark Knight and more.
