Some casting news changes and the promise that there will be a plot for the new Streetfighter movie:
The official Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li production blog has been updated with a big casting confirmation. Rick Yune has been replaced in the cast by Robin Shou, who will play Gen.
the SF blog is running an interview with screenwriter Justin Marks, where he attempts to make a case for the original Street Fighter game having a plot. He says, “any true fan of Street Fighter knows about its rich world, its colorful palette of characters, and complicated web of varying interests and betrayals. No story? You’re just not paying attention.”

I wonder of who could represent Solid Snake in the big screen?
Chuck Norris? Perhaps is too old for the job...i mean not that his age matters cause he can still kick ass.

I think that Hugh Jackman would make an excellent Solid Snake. |

Del Toro- a fan of Bioshock but not part of making the film, well "not yet"...plus has a few words to say on videogames, movies:
During our one-on-one interview with famed Hellboy and Pan's Labyrinth director Guillermo del Toro, we asked him to clarify if he has any involvement on adapting the already cinematic videogame BioShock to the silver screen.
Del Toro firmly denied the rumors saying, "No, I'm a big fan of BioShock, but I'm not involved in creating any movie out of it." Backing up his enthusiasm about the product, though, he did laughingly add, "Not yet."
On the topic of alternative entertainment mediums such as videogames, del Toro did mention that he thought one of the next untapped frontiers was creating a world that lives on film, television, and videogames all at once. The visionary sees a seamless medium where you start a world with a movies and continue it on TV and through videogames. He said it would take a lot of power to do such a thing, and jokingly added he may not be the one to do it since he barely has control of his bowels.

Tbh, it's about time Hollywood bothered to do something original... Pretty much all of the blockbuster movies recently have been based on a book, game or comic.
You know, I really wondered what the issue was for films during the WGA strike... It's not like they couldn't just lift the script DIRECTLY from the originals. >_> |

| originality is hard to come by in flms. every film needs a protagonist and antagonist if its really going to keep people interested and people lap it up when its all settled with big gun fights, explosions and whatnot. they just keep doing whats popular amog most viewers. |
