May be mistaken but this sounds like that only 8 PS3s will be available per shop at launch. Must suck for all those PS3 wannabe owners, at this rate then the Euro launch will probably be delayed further.

Yeah, my local EB had 10 pre-orders available (and 2 were reserved for employees, which leaves 8 for the customers). And Best Buy isn't even taking pre-orders... you have to wait in line on launch day.

Not realy surprising though, given the fact that Sony seems to keep running into production problems with the console. What's their launch target right now? 1 million worldwide by year-end?

I think the target for the end of the year is 2-2.5 million sold or something, can't see it that high with all these problems although the console will sell out no matter what.

Another funny story (depending on your P.O.V.) is the prices for the PS3 on eBay, average is $1000 but one chancer is asking for $100,000.

Interesting news about the SIXAXIS... if your rechargable battery dies on you, you can't replace it. You have to buy a whole new controller. But on the plus side, a two hour charging session will give you 30 hours of gameplay. On the down side, you have to reconnect it to your PS3 via the USB cable after every time you power down (or lose power). o.0
