Looks like DMCIV is doing good business for Capcom:
Officials from Capcom have announced that Devil May Cry 4 has already shipped over 2 million units worldwide since its release earlier in the month on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, making it the fastest selling iteration in the franchise so far
With generally positive reviews, both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Devil May Cry 4 entered the Japanese top ten upon release, with the PlayStation 3 version becoming the fastest selling PlayStation 3 title so far.
The Xbox 360 version debuted at number one in the UK charts upon release – the first time any entry in the series had reached the top spot in the country

Capcom admit that making DMCIV for the PS3 was a bit tricky:
Producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi explains:
The Xbox 360 and the PC are close in structure, so it was easy to switch over. The PS3, the CPU and the design are unique... our programmer is extremely talented, and was able to figure it out. I think after repeated meetings with Sony that we were able to tap into the PS3.

Details about DMCIV PC version:
Devil May Cry 4 will be coming to PCs this summer. The game is said to feature new modes, enhanced graphics options, and "some additional content."
The newly added "Turbo Mode" will simply speed up the game's action to "insane speeds," and the "Legendary Dark Knight Mode" is an increased difficultly mode that will fill the screen with an "unbelievable number of enemies." Additionally, enemy placement seems to have changed a bit, as Capcom is saying that familiar enemies from the console version will appear in different and unexpected areas. The game will support both Direct X 9 and Direct X 10, and will run at a ridiculous 120 frames per second, provided you have the rig to support it.

Itagaki really likes to view his opinions on other games as well as his own- this time the Ninja Gaiden main man has a swipe at Devil May Cry:
First it was Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and now Itagaki's tearing into Capcom's Devil May Cry series of action games.
"I think Kayima-san makes good games," Itagaki, in a rare glass half-full moment, said. "However, I think they, the systems, gameplay elements in his game tend to be rather shallow and he makes up with that through stylish presentation. I think if you were to compare them directly, the combat and other gameplay elements in NGII are much deeper than projects that he works on."

Whilst I entirely agree that Ninja Gaiden (and hopefully Ninja Gaiden 2) have incredibly deep combat systems, calling Devil May Cry shallow is like calling chalk cheese.
The guy is clearly using these statements to promote Ninja Gaiden, but this is a rather idiotic way to go about it. |

In complete agreement- but i also think there is room for both games in the genre. They both offer something different, but i must say i keep coming back to the DMC franchise more than i do the Ninja Gaiden one at the moment...
In the news...
DMCV is probably a sure thing...xD..due to the great sales of the fourth installment in the series.
Will it be about the history of the Devil Bringer or something to do with Vergil - possibilities are endless...

Devil May Cry 4 producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi said back at E3 2007 that he wanted to make Devil May Cry 5 if Capcom let him. This week Capcom president Haruhiro Tsujimoto announced in a press release that Capcom’s fiscal year 2008 sales increased to over 83 billion Yen ($806 million), in part thanks to Devil May Cry 4’s record sales of over 2 million units worldwide since its early February 2008 release, making it the fastest selling Devil May Cry game so far and taking the entire series from 7 to 9 million sold. It now seems all but certain Capcom wants a sequel with Mr. Tsujimoto closing off the PR by saying “We hope to continue meeting and exceeding the expectations of gamers with our dedication to developing solid titles for the best gaming platforms available.”
To quote Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi’s words from last year: “Continuing the storyline is always possible. However, we do work under a corporate system, so unless Capcom gives us the green light to go ahead and continue on with releasing Devil May Cry 5, 6, 11, whatnot. It’s totally up to them.
However, personally I would like to continue with Devil May Cry and create more and more games for this franchise. Devil May Cry 4 has turned out to be a very cool-looking stylish game for those that have a PS3 or a [Xbox] 360. If you don’t buy Devil May Cry 4 you would think ‘Why didn’t I buy it?’ There’s no worth of having a PS3 or [Xbox] 360 without Devil May Cry 4. That’s the kind of game it’s going to turn out to be.”

For those of you waiting for the PC version- demo has been released today:
Devil May Cry 4 may have been released early on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but Capcom earlier revealed that the real deal on the game's technology is on the PC version of the game. And now PC gamers may try out the game for themselves, because Capcom has announced that a feature-filled demo has been shipped to major download veins on the Internet.
In similar fashion to Devil May Cry 3, DMC4 is debuting last on the PC for another memorable demon slashing romp for action fans on the platform, but with additional modes and content. Techies will be most interested in the Benchmark Test Mode packaged into the Devil May Cry 4 demo, but then there's also two missions rolled in there that are identical to the missions offered in the console demo versions.
The two new modes offered on the PC doesn't seem to be in there, so you're going to have to grab a copy of the full game if you're really interested in checking them out

Xbox 360 Devil May Cry 4 Install 10 Minutes Long, 30% Load Time Reduction
The upcoming Fall Dashboard Update for the Xbox 360 will feature the ability to play your games directly from the hard disk of your Xbox 360. You can optionally install any game you wish onto your drive to improve load times. Microsoft reported that the full Devil May Cry 4 disk installation took just about 10 minutes, just about 15 minutes sooner than the PLAYSTATION 3 non-optional installation. After the installation, the game loaded 30 percent faster. Pretty good for a 10 minute installation.
