Default  Best Game So Far of 2006?

Since the forums have been closed, it'd be nice to know what your best games been from this year so far. I know some of you haven't bothered with gaming all so much this year, some of you guys being at University, some just losing interest with the new releases etc, but if you are still buying a few, which game of 2006 have you enjoyed the most?

I'm going to go ahead and say Hitman: Blood Money. I've not really purchased so many games this year due to there not being so many blockbuster games imo released at all.

So, what's your best game of 2006? Please don't bother with World of Warcraft, because I know everyone's hooked on that game. It was late 2005. xP

(Umm... slightly overkill with the threads, don't you think? )

Well, seeing as the game I'm going to mention theoretically wasn't released in this corner of the globe until the start of the new year, the answer to this one is easy for me:

Shadow of the Colossus.

I think it's going to be a long time before any other game surpasses it for me either. I won't go into a huge, long ramble about why I love the game so much. Rest assured, anyone else who has played it already understands why.

The last time I fell in love with a game this much was, ironically, the first time I played it's "predeccesor", ICO.

I wish I could say SotC as well, but unfortunately I live in the U.S.

Therefore my "vote" goes to Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. The online mode was reason enough, but the new camera system and everything else (not to mention MG and MG2) render this release irresistible

I'll have to agree. It was incredibly innovatinve, and... just so epic, and huge.

Living in not-PAL territories - I would say the best game of 2006 so far is Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. It perfected its near-perfect predecessor and it added in one of the best console online modes I’ve ever played.

I'll have to go with Oblivion as well. i knew that one would dominate once i heard it was coming out, and it's easily the best game overall for this year

I would also have to go with Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

For a game on such a grand scale they take the time to detail every small aspect of the game very well.

I would go as far as to say that this is the best display of the 360's capabilities for the moment.
