*sigh* still no sign of Max Payne 3 i hope we get at least one more of his "adventures through the night" purely because Max Payne 2 was my favourite game of all time. the dark story, the awesome action and the sheer amount of guns made me very happy. it definitely took Max Payne and revolutionised an already great game play experience by tacking on better graphics and, my favourite feature, the rag-doll engine. it makes a kill feel so more real for some reason.
the story was always the best selling point for the games, it seemed like Frank Miller work and John Woo action. To be honest, without the comic book sequences the game would've been rather boring and unoriginal, the first one seemed to latch onto the bullet-time craze that kicked off after The Matrix.
Does anyone here know the official ending of Max Payne 2? |

I haven't played either of the Max Payne games for some time. The first game was a work of art, even if Max's face was constipated the whole time. It was neo-noir at its best, a depressing, first person narrative story told in a gravelly voice, with hardcore actions between graphic novel sequences and a huge drug scandal at the center. I loved it.
The second game... didn't impress me as much. Maybe I was expecting something a bit different in terms of gameplay. It was basically the same game, with a more generic plot and prettier graphics. I can expect Max Payne 3, if they do it, would be brilliant on the next-gen consoles.
Nah, I don't know the official ending for the second game. |

I loved the first one. I think the storylines are the best aspects of those games - just brilliant. (Like when he's halluctinating and you have to direct him through his trip. Madness).
The old-school detective story aspect (first person narration, etc) just added to the atmosphere. |

| Metal Gear series remains a higher priority. However, no PlayStation, so can't play either anytime soon. |

i find Max Payne FAR more playable than MGS. its so much fun shooting random gangsters, in slow-mo, with a grenade launcher or setting one on fire with a molotov ****tail.
it makes The Doctor a very happy boy. |
