For reference, please see the video at: http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...&q=nintendo+ds

I'm really bored. So I think I shall point out why this guy is a moron.

Quote:
Hi... I don't know if you know this yet but... uh... the Nintendo DS is probably the worst portable system ever. It's not innovative at all, it's got nothing good about it. It's pretty much just a piece of garbage.
Nothing good about it... which must be why so many people are buying it.

Quote:
Uh... I know I'm gonna get a lot of people who disagree with this, but uh... it's got nothing good about it. It's got two screens. Who cares? They have two screens on... on everything.
... Two screens on everything? Such as... ?

Quote:
People are gonna say they have touch screens. I don't care. Touch screen is a horrble idea for a portable system. It uses up all the memory, all the battery life. I'm sure the Nintendo DS probably has a horrible battery life because of the touch screen. And it's just a horrible idea to put a touch screen on a portable game system.
Hmm... 6-10 hours of battery life for the DS, versus 3-6 hours for the PSP. Yeah, that touch screen really kills the battery...

Quote:
Uh... the Nintendo DS is just a gameboy. Gameboy has been around since 1987. Check the facts, folks. 1987. It's a 19 year old system. Why would you pay $300 for a DS? It's a 19 year old system, it's a piece of garbage.
Check the facts yourself, dumbass. Gameboy came out in 1989. And the DS retails for $129.99... not $300.

Quote:
They really didn't upgrade the technology since the Gameboy. It's pretty much the same amount of memory, pretty much. it might be a little higher, I don't know. The gameboy had a color screen, they changed it, but changing to a color screen is not worth paying all that money for.
4 MiB of memory on the DS versus a meager 8 kByte on the Gameboy. I don't see an upgrade, do you?

Quote:
If you look at the Sony PSP, they have all kinds of new features on it. It's got a widescreen picture. Widescreen is the future, folks. High definition TVs are at an alltime high, and they have the clearest picture. I heard that on the news. And the widescreen displays at 16 by 9. And you can play UMD movies on the PSP... can't do that on the DS. Can't do that... I heard that on the radio...
Does anyone out there actually hook their PSP up to their HDTV to watch UMD movies? No? Yeah, I didn't think so. And I love how all of his "facts" are second-hand.

Quote:
And the PSP, it stands for PlayStation Portable. Uh... DS, who knows what that stands for? I don't know. And I know a lot of stuff about the DS. I know it's a piece of garbage. It's also a piece of trash.
I don't know about you, but acronyms are the FIRST think I take into consideration before making a purchase. The guy claims to know a lot about the DS. I don't think he's managed to make one factual statement about it yet. By the way, DS stands for Dual-Screen, you ****tard.

Quote:
Uh... the games for it are not that good. The graphics are pretty terrible. The PSP on the other hand has terrific graphics. Check out this game, it's call Grand Theft Auto... uh Liberty City Stories. It's a fantastic game. You get to drive around in a car or on foot, you choose. And you get to do your job... you get to shoot people, whatever you want, and they don't have that on the DS. Look it up. Check Google. Google that, folks, if you don't believe me. It's not on the DS.
Yeah... the DS only has the original Final Fantasy. How can that possibly compare to GTA:LCS? Though based on his description, I'm wondering if this guy has ever played a GTA game...

Quote:
And the DS has less colors than the PSP. And... it's a fact. Look it up.
Uh... and this matter why?

Quote:
Uh... the Sony PSP uses a UMD. It's a universal media disc, and it holds over 1 gigabyte. Not a gigaflop. With the DS they always use the term gigaflop. Gigaflop is garbage folks. You need a gigabyte.
Ok... I don't pretend to be an expert here, but even I know that bytes and flops are not related and are not interchangeable. Bytes are for storage. Flops are for processing power.

Quote:
They try and trick you at Nintendo. over there... Nintendo is a Japanese company.
SO IS SONY, YOU IDIOT!

Quote:
Uh... and they... in some of there reports on the systems they try to trick you by saying giga... giga... flop or something? I don't kow what they're talking about. They use all these technical terms to try to trick you into thinking it's super fast. But the truth is the Sony PSP is faster.
Damn right you don't know what they're talking about. You don't even know what you're talking about...

Quote:
And it can use a memory stick. On the side of the PSP there's a hole where you can put a memory stick inside, and it can be over 1 gigabyte in size. You can even hook up an external hardrive to PSP, and better than that, you can hook up a camera... an eyetoy I believe? Can't do that on the DS... no, no... no sir.
First of all, the memory stick and eyetoy were developed by Sony. Of course, the DS can't use them. Second... I may be wrong, but don't memory sticks only hold like 128 MB?

Quote:
Uh, you can do all sorts of things. You can hook your PSP up to a TV. It takes a little advanced knowledge to do that sort of thing, but you can do that folks. If you put your mind to it, you can do anything. But not with the DS, because DS is a piece of garbage. Nintendo... Nintendo's alright. They did the NES, and that was pretty sweet, but the DS, not so much.
Again, does anyone actually hook their PSP up to a TV?

Quote:
They say it's portable, but here's the trick... you have to hook it up to your wall to charge it. you can't just charge it while you're walking down the street. With the PSP you can replace the batteries... you can buy them online... not that expensive, not that bad.
You can replace the batteries on the DS, too, you know... And I wasn't aware that the almighty PSP charged itself while you're walking down the street...

Quote:
You can even play it... the PSP... while it's hooked up to the wall. It's true... I've done it before. I have played my PSP while it's hooked up to the wall.
Well, I certainly want to go out and buy a portable system so I can play it WHILE IT'S PLUGGED INTO THE FREAKING WALL!

Quote:
Uh... the PSP you can also watch movies on it. Spiderman, they have that on UMD. You can watch it on youre PSP. Because PSP can play UMD movies. It also plays music. And if you have any mp3... mp3... uh... musically platformed version 3 files... you can play it on you PSP. And it's got really good quality.
PSP is about the only thing you CAN watch umd movies on, you moron. Sony developed the format FOR the PSP. And look up MP3 sometime... it stands for MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3, not "musically platformed version 3".

Quote:
You can even... the PSP even has an analog stick. You don't have to use those buttons they have on the DS. It's not going to hurt your fingers after awhile. you can use the analog stick.
Woohoo! An analog stick! Because I can't remember a time before analog sticks...

Quote:
And the PSP also has built in speakers.
So does the DS.

Quote:
And folks they're pretty loud. These speakers can play music for a whole warehouse if you know what you're doing. They really can. It's a fact... look it up.
Where the **** would I look that up? And why would I want to use my PSP to play music for a warehouse when a $20 radio can do the same damn thing?

Quote:
The PSP on the other hand. If you want to listen to music, you can't on the DS. You can't... you can't buy music for the DS. You can't buy music for the DS because it's just not good enough. Not as good as the PSP.
The DS isn't a multimedia device. It's a portable game system.

Quote:
The DS is not an innovative system. They pretty much just stole their technology from other companies.
And Sony didn't?

Quote:
Everything on the DS has been done before. Touch screen... I've seen that for several years. I saw that 5 years ago. Uh... I heard it on the news. Touch screens... and the touch screen, you need that little stylus thing or else your screen is gonna get all messy. Messy... dirty... get a little sloppy. And you're gonna need to clean that sucker or you won't be able to see what you're doing.
OMG... Touch screens were around before the DS! They stole them! And I don't think I want to know what it is that he's getting all over his touch screen...

Quote:
And the DS... um... they... they say it's great because you have two screens. It's not though. Cuz if you want to play classic games, you can't do it... because what's the extra screen for? It doesn't make any sense, folks. The extra screen... it has a light, and it's gonna waste the battery, and it's gonna ruin your experience, and it's not gonna be fun.
Well, gosh... maybe they could, I don't know.... shut the touchscreen off for games that don't require it.

Quote:
Like the PSP... the PSP is built around the idea of fun. Sony is a fun company. They do lots of fun stuff. Sony makes laptops that are also pretty fun.
What do laptops have to do with handheld game systems? But we get the point. Sony = fun.

Quote:
And the PSP is going to be able to work as a controller for the PS3
Maybe... but then again, Sony's lied to us already about the PS3 features. Who's to say this won't be dropped as well?

Quote:
The Nintendo DS is not going to work as a controller on the PlayStation 3. Look it up.
Well, no ****.

Quote:
And... uh... the PSP has built in wireless access to connect to the internet and to other PSP gamers. So if you're on PSP and your friend's on PSP you can play games with each other. Doesn't work with a DS though. If you have a DS and your friend has a PSP, you can't use your DS with a PSP. Doesn't work. Look it up. It's a fact.
Imagine that... you can't use a DS to play games with a PSP user. But you can use it to play games with another DS user. If PSP is so great, shouldn't it be able to interface with any devide known to man? It should be able to control my microwave from three blocks away, dammit!

Quote:
And the DS... it's like a children's device. It's not really well-designed. Like the PSP is. The PSP you can through it on the ground, and it won't matter. You can pick it up, and it'll work fine. The DS on the other hand, my friend had one, and it fell out of his pocket on a trampoline... he wasn't even jumping folks... fell out of his pocket on a trampoline and it destroyed it. It was unplayable after that because... it broke. I don't even know why he got it. He never used it, he just kept it in his pocket, he never... I never saw him playing it.
First of all, why would you keep a $130 device in your pocket while on a trampoline, jumping or not? Second, why was he on the trampoline if he wasn't jumping. Third, what kind of gamer wannabe buys a DS just to keep it in his pocket and never play it?

Quote:
My other friend has a PSP and he really likes that PSP. He plays it pretty often, and the PSP... I don't know if Sony wants you to do this, but you can put Linux on your PSP. And, you can put Macintosh software on you PSP. You can't do that on DS... No folks. You can't do that. Look it up. It's a fact.
Would you stop telling us to ****ing look up your so-called "facts'? Last I heard they hadn't managed to get Linux running on it... though I may, admittedly, be behind on the latest PSP news.

Quote:
I haven't done this personally, but I've heard that you can play classic game emulators on you PSP. Yeah. So that's hundreds of games.
I think you mean you can play ROMs of classic games. Which are often illegal.

Quote:
And... it's pretty much, the DS isn't that good. And PSP is. That's pretty much it. And... PSP is better. Alright, thank you for your time. Get a PSP, it's pretty good. DS.... um... I wouldn't recommend it. Nintendo's a pretty good company, but DS... yeah, sorry. Thank you!
Final word on the matter. PSP is "pretty good". What an amazing review.

You're an idiot.

Holy ****ing I gave up reading five quotes in; but get the impression that the review wasn't meant to have been taken seriously; especially looking at the rest of the stuff on his site.

Ha... yeah, I know. But the review itself was just so ridiculously stupid, I couldn't resist (And he reminds me of my sister's fiance, who I'm not allowed to pwn on the grounds that it might drive her closer to actually marrying the idiot).

DS stands for Developer System, not Dual Screen I believe. Or maybe it’s both.
