PS3 pricing - the great debate

By now we should all have heard about how outrageously over priced the PS3 is going to be (£425 here in the UK).
So what is the general concensus? Is anyone really gonna pay this? I would for a PC...in fact I did! But not for a games console, no matter what colour laser it uses. |

| I won't be arsed to get a PS3 until it comes down in price. If there's any next-gen console I wind up buying immediately when it comes out, it'll be the Wii. |

I wouldnt pay that much for any games console. The most I'd pay is about £200, and I could think of a hell of a lot better things to spend my money on than a games console nowadays.
By the way, how much is an Xbox 360 in comparison? I'm too lazy to go check, and my internets being gay. |

| I think it was about $100 less than the PS3, which would probably make it around £50 less. It might have been $200 and £100 though. |

Meh, I'll just wait a while until it drops in price. It's not like I'm desperate to have one as soon as it comes out.
Though I have a feeling my (second) PS2 may die soon.  |

Like the X-Box 360, there are two versions of the PlayStation 3--the **** version, and then the actual one.
The 360 ranges from $399 to $499, while the PS3 from $499 to $599.
Then, there is the Wii. Not only is the system more revolutionary to gaming than the X-Box 360 and the PlayStation 3, but comes at a neat price of $250. I have no idea how these prices range elsewhere.
Coincidentally, Sony's new console specs seem strangely familiar to that of Nintendo's, just far more inferior. (i.e. the systems ability to detect the controller in three-dimensional space. However, Sony's cannot rumble. Nor does the controller have its own speaker.) |

Like I'll be able to afford it? Yeah, right.  I can go buy a computer for a cheaper price.
Nintendo has actually surprised me with the Wii. Small price compared to the other two '1337' systems, and I'm very tempted to get it over the PS3 (if only I weren't such a fanboy... mang). For now, though, I'm saving all of my money to go toward the actual PS3. No Wii just yet. |

Its not so much the price, now. People have been coming into the shop and signing a list just to be put on the pre-order list. We had at least three pages so the price really cant be an issue.
The real bummer is that were getting news that each shop will only get about five systems. Which is bull****, im sorry. But it is. Its going to be the worst day ever when it comes out. The word frenzy comes to mind. |
