I own both games, and even though I have not completed the first one, I intend to complete the second xD

Anyone else own any of the titles? If so, what are your thoughts on the game?

I'm not sure actually. They're pretty overshadowed by a lot of other rpgs these day.

I think they may be rpg tactic games, too.

I own the first one, and well, I have mixed feelings about it.

First time you play it, it seems like a rather cheap game. Poor level design (huge grey plain, few trees, few rocks, and a big square castle), repetitive gameplay (a thousand soldiers, only three kinds of 'em), funky music (they've sampled existing classical pieces and made some weird repetitive noise out of it, which they call 'music'), etcetera.

But, as you play it, you get to know it better, and you'll see that it's a pretty big game. Twelve or so chapters, each with three to six (ish) playable levels. 66 different weapons (top o my head, dunno for sure), each of which have four levels. Five different endings. You name it.

I was able to get four of five endings, all of them are excellent I think. Some even freaky ( Spoiler : click to show/hide [ massive babies, anyone? ] ). I probably never will see the fifth ending though, finding and leveling up all weapons just takes too much time.

I don't even want to know how long that would take without a guide on the locations of the items .

Is Drakengard 2 out yet? I kinda wanna get that one eventually, I'm sure they've improved on the weak points of Drakengard.

...then again, did they?

I haven't played the first one, but my brother has the second.

From what I've seen, the story is even more messed up!

*SPOILER*
One of the villains from the first game team up with you, and you fight the hero of the first game!

I've heard of series since before No. 1 was released... I really have been wanting to get a hold of a copy but saddly no chance. So the story is really messed up huh? I guess that could be a good reason why its hidden behind the shadows... swish swish.

I own both, but only played the first. It got mixed reviews though, and the second one did worse.

But I enjoyed the hell out of it.
Maybe it's because my imagination is limited, but having one godlike dude taking the lives of thousands of people in minutes is a heck of a blast to me. Plus you get these ****ing insane weapons and ****, it's awesome.

...and..there was a plot to this?

JOKING. The plot kicks ass too, I found it pretty original.

But yeah, the graphics are freakin' horrible.
