Sony officially announced a price cut on all their phat wares! (That's wares, not warez, j00 1337 h4x0rz!)

PlayStation 2 - from $299 to $199 US
PSone - from $99 to $49 US
PSone + LCD Screen Combo - from $199 to $149 US
PS2 8MB Memory Card - from $34 to $24 US
PS2 Dual Shock 2 Controller - from $34 to $24 US
PS1 Dual Shock Controller - from $29 to $19 US

This is great. I've been wanting to get another memory card, too bad I bought my PS2 JUST a few months ago when it costed $299.99

We all knew this was going to happen. I've been waiting for the chance to get some more memory cards. Those sports games eat up a lot of memory. Oh well.

thats good they cut the price down, since my old one PS2 broke down. the CD holder Shoots out and back in when you press the eject botton.

hehe, we got our first price cut a few months before christmas last year, and weve just had another from £200 to £170

The prices went back up here.
Sony made the cut so that it could shadow out the X-box.
The X-box had also brought down the station to 199.99
as soon as sony lowered.
So sony made a move and brought it back to 299.99.
Why? because it's all in Economics.
It's obvious, the people that really want to buy the PS2,
will eventually get the PS2 in due time.
It's been long understood by any company that markets.
So Sony's now like "Why bother to try to compete against the X-Box if they'll eventually purchase the system. We don't need to lose our money for now."

bah, the uk got a price cut months ago, it's 200 pounds now and may go down to 150 during the summer
