First of all, who has played Battlefield 1942 and it's expansion packs Road to Rome and Secrets Weapons of WWII?

I personally think it's a hell of a fun game if you have mates to play with xD I always imagined a FPS where you can fight on both land, sea and air... BF fulfills that wish well, with the vehicle controls being easy to understand. The only problem with the controls is for the plane, its only easy to control if you have a flight joystick xD But thats a minor flaw and not important. The graphics are alright, I love the effects, nothing like an artillery shell landing right next to a bunch of people and seeing them fly into the sky because of it xD The funny thing about this game is its ticket system, where instead of a limited number of lives, you have to decrease your enemies tickets till they reach zero. This can be done by holding capture points, or by killing enemy soldiers. Intresting. Honestly, it reminds me of a realistic Tribes, but even better. One problem with the game is that unpatched, this ting is a beast with flaws, lots of them, but patch it up and you're good to go. Its a great game overall, defintley at least a 9/10.

The expansion pack SWoWWII is the only expansion i've played for BF1942, but its great. It utilizes the idea of weapons that never/rarely featured in WWII. This includes a jetpack (get real xD), a jet plane, a glider plane, a rocket you guide from control hq (kind of like the Redeemer from UT), and thats to name a few x) My favourite by far is the Transport plane, you can load a bunch of people inside it and fly over the enemy base and from there you can parachute down. If you want to have even more people parachute down, and you're a skilled plane driver, let people stand on the plane's wing and let them wingsurf, as it's called xD But one disappointment is though it's an expansion, the number of maps added which lets you use these kickass secrets weapons is rather small. However, if you buy BF1942 and this expansion pack at the same time, and install them one after the other, BF1942 has most of its critical flaws erased because the game comes with a patch, v1.5 I believe, and the newest patch is 1.6, so thats not bad is it? All over, its only adds to the greatness of BF1942, and recieves an 8.5, because I don't feel expansions are ever as good as the original.

Now this comes to one last question. Who's looking forward to Battlefield: Vietnam?
It looks killer from what i've seen, the classes and all seem rather unique and individual unlike BF1942. I can't wait to play as the Vietcong They have the punji spikes which I can lay as traps for anybody who dares come in search of me x)

The game is class. Vehicles are fun and stuff. But im not that type to go for big maps or vehicles.

Cal of Duty is the best war game in my opinion. Thats not to say BF1942 is bad. It has ojne of the best online games around. Just i prefer the foot solider than driving a tank.

Call of Duty has the team play. Although Day of Defeat (HL Mod) does rival and sometimes beat it in that aspect, and in the realism too.

In terms of realism, yes... I love Call of Duty, the Stalingrad mission is ace..
But in terms of fun, I start losing interest in CoD before long...
BF I can constantly try new things, like snipering a pilot whilst the's in the sky... Thats my next extreme task xD

CoD shines in its online modes. But BF1942 is more... fun, but without the realism. Oh, and BF:Vietnam looks like its going to rock.

xD There's supposed to be a good unofficial BF mod where it gives you helicopters... Which is what BF Vietnam is doing...

And bleh, what do you mean, CoD has teamplay so does BF...

COD is more on teamplay. Maps are smaller. Also thier unique modes require alot teamplay. Battlefield maps are ****ing large. I mostly tend to go on team death match, which is proably thier most popular game mode. Probably requires more personal skill then teamwork. But thats just me. Still love both games though.

Vietnam looks ****ing great. Wanna ride the tanks with two flak cannons

xD I don't see how you can say the conquest mode doesn't rely on teamwork. You need to make sure everybody is in bloody line with each other, otherwise yer dead x)

I'm best at sniper, and if I wasn't around half the time, there'd be a hell of a lot more anti-tanks for the tanks to deal with Every class relys on the other...

But I guess I feel that way because i'm also a tribes person x)

no no no. I meant the modes as a whole, in both games.
