Secret of Mana (a.k.a. Seiken Densetsu II) is a sequel to the Gameboy classic Final Fantasy Adventure (a.k.a. Final Fantasy Gaiden: Seiken Densetsu). It uses a similar system, but enhanced in every way. It mixes the classic RPG elements with the Zelda fighting system, and the results are simply phenomenal. You have up to 8 weapons, with 8 upgrades each. After each time a weapon has been upgraded, you can obtain deadlier attacks, which can be executed by holding the B button. And what would a good RPG be without magic? SoM is not different. As you progress in your quest, you will recover eight elements, all of them giving you magical powers for both your magic users. These spells can become stronger when they reach a new level (the max level being 8). You can raise these levels after executing spells of a specific element for a particular number of times. This leveling up system has been borrowed from FFII.
If you haven't got the chance to play this magnificent game yet, I strongly suggest you to do so. |
