If anyone see seen the 12 mins offical MGS3 trailer, or now info about MGS3. Rumours has it that the events on MGS3 is going to be around the the 1960's. And we know Snake wasnt even born at that time. Also when you see snake parachuting off, this equipment is far advanced to be made in the 1960s
Either the dude we are seeing aint Snake (or is snake, but aint the snake we know) maybe snakes clone or something *shrugs* Big Boss himself?, or Time Travel (which many people figures)
So what do you think? |

It can't really be Big Boss, because Kojima confirmed that the character in the trailer is Snake (unless Snake was also Big Boss' code name when he was young).
One thing is for sure. In the 60s, Snake was way too young to be in the army yet. So, something happened. If you notice his equipment, instead of the nanomachines, Snake (or whoever it is) has a little communication device near his left ear. So, the game DOES take place in the 60s.
So, I don't really know how Snake ended up in that jungle AND in the 60s, but I'm affraid that we have to consider the theory of time travel, as absurd as it can be (I really hope Kojima won't go there. It's not Onimusha III, for crying loud). |

Absurb even for MGS3 i think I dont mind if its to do with Time Travelling, but with Genes, Politics and now Time Travelling (if there is) is going to confuse the**** outta me. |

I read that the E3 trailer's main character was missing an eye. There was a close-up shot of the missing eye in the trailer. That just makes me believe that MGS3 is a prequel and you actually play as Big Boss.

wow i though it was just snake in the jungle, i hadnt heard the taking place in the 60s or it not being snake, if it isnt snake, and it looks a lot like snake, it has to be big boss, it has to right?
sounds cool though, the whole surivel thing might be cool, but it also sounds like it could slow the game down, i dont know, i hope this game is better the the second one was, not that i disliked it that much, i just think it could have been a lot better when compaired to the first one |

| Maybe you take the role of Big Boss in a flashback that takes place in the 60s (pretty much like the Laguna dreams in FFVIII). My theory is this: Big Boss discovers a very special building or facility in the 60s, and Snake explores that facility after the events of Sons of Liberty. |

| Or perhaps its a VR simulation Snake is undergoing to surpass Big Boss. I don't see why Kojima wouldn't have this happen, after all. VR training has been a major part of the MGS series, so why not have Snake brush up his skills by becoming an artificial Big Boss in an Artificial enviroment? But other than that, the only other theories that I can think of at the moment is that it is a flashback, as Citan has stated. |
