Atropos was one of the three fates; the cutter of the thread of Destiny, meaning that Atropos gave humans true free will in a way. No human after Atropos cut the thread had to become or do something; they were in control of their own destinies as it were.
The relevance I draw from her being named Atropos is that Robo's defeat of her is that it's Prometheus' true acceptance of making his own path in the world, not following any orders from the Mother Brain. In other words, she is the gateway to Prometheus taking control of his own destiny.
For reference, Prometheus was one of the Titans; he stole fire from the gods and gave it to mankind. Zeus punished him by chaining him to a rock and sending an eagle to eat his liver, only for it to grow back the next day.
But here's where it gets interesting. Another version of Prometheus' story is that he used the fire of the gods to create humans from the earth. Jupiter then sent Mercury to bind Prometheus to Mount Caucasus where a vulture ate his liver instead.
A few minute differences there, mainly that Prometheus created humans and that it was Jupiter, the Roman head of the Gods who punished him.
I think his naming is actually an ironic thing. While in the myth he created humanity, it's in fact humanity who created him. Without his memory, every revelation of his past is like the vulture pecking away at his liver. He decides to go his own way (his liver growing back) only to have it devoured yet again by another revelation.
My mind just frazzled itself so that's it for now... |

I can remember... dreamt them so vividly, soft creatures draped in white, light kisses gracing me.
I can remember when I first realised dreams were the only place to see them.
