So, Square and Enix decided to merge.
Nutty, huh? This means that Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest are owned by one company. Not to mention, Square also owns the Chrono and Ogre Battle series, plus Enix publishes games from smaller developers, such as Star Ocean and Grandia.
Sony, which owns a percentage of Square, now owns a smaller percentage of Square Enix. Could this mean some titles on other platforms? I hope so (unless it's the Xbox, because I don't have one).
'scuse me now. Pesky pigs are flying around outside again. |

All your Final Fantasy are belong to us..
I think it's a good thing they join each other, they can make perfect RPG's together. |

Ultimately, the FF series is up to Square. I believe that while they merged, it doesn't always mean they are going to be screwing with each others games. There is potential to make new RPG's in and of themselves, but I don't think they will mess with a tried and true formula...
As for porting...I don't care, as long as it always comes to PS2... |

Maybe they could actually save the FF series. Thought I don't know if they would do merger projects like that.
And... Square owns Ogre Battle? o.O |

I hope it would be a change for the best, if Enix and Square will merge, since they have good RPG titles.
BTW, this could be the first step among Square, Enix, and Namco joining together, because they sold their stocks last year. I wonder when will Namco enter this merging... |

I'd hope to see a "Fantasy of the Deep" from a Square/Namco merge...-chuckles-
That's interesting, though. Hopefully Square won't become the Microsoft of gaming. I doubt it, since Konami with Metal Gear Solid and Capcom with its variety of games will be ample competition anyhow. Ahh, that reminds me, I have to go pray now...-L- |
