Ah, so what is a "GOAT" thread doing in here? Well "G.O.A.T" really means, Greatest Of All Time. That's exactly what I feel about Final Fantasy X. Not only is it one of the best games on PS2, but in my opinion, the best game of all time!
If you haven't gone out to get your hands on the "GOAT", FFX, do so! Shortly, we will be holding a contest to win Final Fantasy X gear, but that's something else..

I rented it, and I was extremely disappointed. It's the very first FF game I've played as well. I heard such talk that Final Fantasy was an incredible saga of games, but when I got it, the hype puffed-up in smoke, so to speak. I really dislike RPG style battles, where every 3 seconds something goofy with 6 eyes attacks you. I also didn't like the cast of characters.
Personally, I think Zelda is much better because of the freedom it gives you to move around and attack enemies. I am anxious for the new Zelda game to be released on Gamecube. |

| I beat FF X 2 days ago, and it's the greatest game I've ever played! The ending was to short! I was expecting more, but...oh well! I'm happy. |

| I beat FFX yesterday, and I was pretty impressed. Not quite the greatest game of all time, but it's sure up there. I really enjoyed the storyline the most of all, though. They did a great job in that aspect. |

| I am at Moonflow right now. I am leveling up, and getting everyone's overdrive up. I think this game is the best FF I have played. It's not the best of all time in my book, but i'm not judging anyone else. This game is one of the best games out there I have played. |

Sanosuke, if you prefer more Zelda-style games, then I would reccomend the earlier Final Fantasies. They are much more your style, though I think you'll still be annoyed by the "rpg style" battles (I'm a bit confused by that statement, though... It's an RPG, what do you expect?).
To the rest of the world, the ending is simply phenomenal. It is very sad, and I found myself in denial for nearly the whole sequence. I beat it again for my brother, and he started crying, even though he hadn't even witnessed most of the game and the most moving scenes within it.
Without a doubt, if you persevere to the ending, you won't be disappointed. |

I think what Sano meant with that was Random Battles, i.e. you don't see your enemies, you just walk around and suddenly you're thrown into battle with some enemies. Zelda doesn't have those random battles, neither do plenty of other adventure-RPG's (FF = adv.-rpg, Zelda = action-rpg, rather...)
I've only played the FFX Demo so far, living in the NL where it's still a month or two before it will be in stores here, but I just gotta say, *SPOILERS* the FMV with the arena and "Sin" and all that, was the most brilliant FMV I've ever seen. 
btw, afterlab, you really should add a [spoiler] tag here. On the Couch (my board) we use the HTML output of a Table with a background color (i.e. [spoiler=BLACK], or you can make it not-optional and just insert the color yourself in the vB Code stuff) and a font tag of the very same color as the background. That way, people have to manually click-and-highlight the text inside the spoiler tag, to be able to read it. Very efficient.
