New information regarding Final Fantasy XI's available job classes has been reported among other aspects of the game. Players can choose from at least fifteen job classes, including Warrior, Thief, Monk, White Mage, Red Mage, Black Mage, Knight, Summoner, Bard, Ninja, Samurai, Gunner, Hunter, Dark Knight and Trainer.
FFXI will also employ a Mission Ranking System designed to reward players by increasing their reputations as specific events are completed. Over time, a player's position in his or her own country may advance to Team Leader, or even General. A Link Shell system will also be implemented, allowing players to form clans or circle of friends by distributing their club or organization's own unique decorated shell. After purchasing a Link Shell and adorning it with the name and symbol of your club, you may hand it out to anyone whom you would like to add to your names list.
Perhaps the most promising new development is the game's usage of crystals. Representing the eight elements of fire, water, earth, wind, ice, thunder, light, and dark, FFXI's crystals allow players to use their respective flavors to cook meals, fuse metals, and combine plants. Specific skills are needed to harness the crystals' energy, and players will not be able to activate higher-level effects unless they meet the prerequisite for that ability.
Cid fans will be disheartened to learn that the recurring Final Fantasy character is far-removed from the action, stuck running a weapons shop in one of the game's towns.
I'm personally excited by this. The added job classes means more diversity, and although the fact that crystals would be used was already released, the ranking system is new, although expected. What do you guys think?

Like online comics? We've got Sourcelife for your fix.
The cost is right now scripted at $58 dollars, with a $9.50 monthly fee, although the first two months are free. If you buy it for the PS2 instead of the PC, you have to buy the $150 ethernet adapter, as well, but that can also be applied to other games, while the PC version is simply for the PC.
Also, with the monthly fee, you get access to Square's PlayOnline service, which supposedly lets you play cards with other players. Eventually, as they get more games running, that fee will umbrella over EVERY game you want to play online, so you will be getting more for your money. Though why you'd want to play anything other than FFXI, I have no idea.
yea it all looks really interesting how it is going to be, i cant wait to play it, and i hoppe there is a better use of the international language, i mean more things to say to one another
