Default  Anyone else find FFX INCREDIBLY boring?

So having just finished FF8 and deciding it isn't so bad after all I decide I'll give FFX a second chance too, I finished it once already and found it annoying, boring and **** but I figure I'll keep an open mind and give it a second chance.

I'm only an hour into the game, it's already boring the **** out of me, the religious bull**** and the voice acting are alreading pissing me off and I'm begining to reconsider the whole second chance thing.

I mean damn, I thought FF4 was boring but this is ****ing ridiculous, at least FF4 had Golbeze who was a cool bloke but the characters in 10 are just plain and uninteresting.

You've got a pessimistic chick in bondage - AH! I'M A GOTH!

You've got yer virgin summoner girl that talks like an utter retard

You have a whiney skater boy who hates his old man for like..no reason whatsoever.

A big guy that prances around with a bottle of milk and sticks his arm inside his jacket the whole time.

You have some dip**** al bhed girl.

And wakka, a big ginger guy.

If I missed any of them out, it's because they're not important or they're so pathetic I forgot them.

So the characters are boring.

The story is boring.

The religious stuff is overdone and monotonous and therefore boring.

So I've come to the conclusion that this game..is ****.

And I know I can't be the only one who thinks like this, or maybe there's someone out there who sees things differently and can help show me the light. Come on, am I right about FFX or am I being too damn harsh?

No you nailed it. FFX is utter horse****. Like with 7, Square was too busy playing with the capabilities of a new system to actually make a decent story with decent characters.

Maybe it's just me being nostalgic but I rather liked FF7, looking back on the bizarre looking characters and the plot it does seem a bit odd though, I'll probably play through that again..but I might just disappoint myself by finding it's not as good as I remember.

Anyways, good to hear I'm right about FFX, I doubt I'll bother playing it through, I might give it one more chance to pick up a bit and if I'm not interested within like twenty minutes of that I'm selling it or something.

God, I hope FFXII will be good. I'll have to rent that game before buying it, just so I don't waste money like I did on FFX.

*shrugs* I liked 7 too, but more for the gameplay value. The story was interesting, but without any TRUE character development it could never be anything more than subpar. But, last time I played it, it was fun. I prefer 8 to 7, though.

Oh yeah, 8 is infinitely better than 7. First time through 8 though I hated it, I'm not sure why but I think I was after more of FF7 and I wasn't getting it so my mind shut off and deemed the game as crap. My recent second play though though has changed my mind and now I consider it the best FF of the series, maybe I'm just fickle.

lol... I think you are just fickle. Nah, FF8 is quality work, despite all the scenes that should have been there, but weren't. It was a more "realistic" FF, which I liked.

Everyone says they want an FF7 remake, but I'd be more likely to buy an FF8 remake. Not now, though. Maybe on PS3.

An FF8 remake or sequel would rock, as would an FF6 remake, and for the record Adam speaks the truth, FF6 was quality.

Trouble is, if they remade FF8 I bet you they'd **** up the characters by making them look all FFX style, like asian and wearing queer clothes. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just that those characters aren't like that, they're more western. Am I right? Of course I'm right.

And lets not forget that they'd probably add voice acting, which is generally ****. Imagine Squall talking like Yuna, just ****ing imagine it, like him taking thirty ****ing minutes just to say "..whatever" in some jerky voice.

True enough. Hopefully, if they ever do such a thing they'll opt for better voice actors. Add yes, the characters' clothing and personas were more western. Hopefully, they'd make a updated version, rather than do a whole rework of the characters, like they do with NES remakes. NES Solid Snake looks NOTHING like PS/PS2 Solid Snake. Hopefully, they wouldn't take that many liberaties.
