FFVII, What is so great about it?

Everyone always says that FFVII is the best FF, What is so great about it?
Ive never played the game and I was just wondering why it was so great.. |

you aint played it 
Has one of THE best storylines of any FF game
Has a very good Materia based system
The damn game is very emotional to many 
Lots more mini-games then FFVIII and FFIX combined (no really)
Cooler characters then FFVIII and FFIX
Has the coolest lookin bosses
Has ace FF music
and come on Sephiroth walks throught FIRE for gods sake .... you dont see any other bad guys doing that |

| Hmmm...I'd say that the reason everyone says it is the best FF is because of the fact that it is the best FF. The story was dark and and more gothic than any of the other stories. The characters were all well developed throughout the game(with the exception of Vincent...damn). The game makes you experience a vast array of emotions from the beginning to the end. And Sephiroth is the coolest bad guy that has ever been invented. I dont know if that really answered your question...but thats why i would say it is so great. |

| LMFAO!!! you still haven't played FF7 yet? OMG!!! alright just to answer your question, FFVII IS the Greatest FF game, if not the Greatest game ever. In my eyes FFVII is the most uniqe FF of the series, sure ever FF is different, but 7 stands out the most. It has a bad ass villian Sephiroth, who in my opinion is one of the greatest villian ever created. it even pulls you in emotianaly in some parts of the game, such as Aeris death. As you can see I am an FFVII fanatic, so you may not like it at all. If you ain't played it yet, then run your ass over to your local game distributer and spill ya $20 on the counter. nuff said |

It may look bad now but if you played it in 1997 the graphics then would have ben exellent ...... anyway it may look crap but story .... ar heck just buy it |

It's foolish to slap FFVII down with the title of Greatest FF Game ever.
Back in it's day FFVII was a peice of gaming matched by none. It was simply a Masterpiece. It had some of the greatest graphics and stunning FMV's, and was a really emotional experience. However each FF game built upon it's predecessor. People have dubbed FF8 the worst FF game ever, but if you take a look at the storyline and the emotional ambiquity of the game it actually surpasses that of FFVII.
The reason why FFVII was dubbed to be so great was because it brought in many new people to the RPG Genre. They hadn't had experiences of past FF games, to them this was as good as it got.
FFVII has got a nice little storyline too it, that will keep you addicted for hours. The mini-games should be made a stand-alone game because there's so many of them.
However, the best Final Fantasy game based on storyline's and emotion's is without a doubt Final Fantasy V.
But even though I've pretty muched bashed FFVII throughout the duration of this post (don't get me wrong, I love the game), you cannot truely call yourself an FF fan until you've added this game to your collection and beaten it. |
