Omega wasn't hard for me...I could've beaten him effortlessly. I just WANTED to use 'The End' to give Omega the comical death I felt he deserved, lol. Tis the only reason it took me 3 tries to defeat him.

The End? That thing Selphie does on FF8?

Yes, Selphie's ultimate limit break which insta-kills anything with a wave of her hand and a field of flowers surrounding the enemy. Think of Omega wearing a crown of daisies on top of that and you'll laugh your ass off, at least I did, lol.

What a great idea. I'll make it a goal to try that myself!

Well in FF VII-X it is one of a few possibilities.
1. Omega VIII- Without using heroes and holy wars you either have to do an offensive onslaught with limit breaks, or you have to time GFs right or use the defend command so you don't get instantly KO'd by Terra Break or Meggido Flame. The fight is either mindless or very well executed.
2. Ozma- One of the more frustrating bosses, because you have to find the land spirits to use physical attacks. Futhermore, his Curse attack is a ***** to handle because of the lack of a ribbon/anti-all-bad status ability. I don't think it is possible to protect yourself from mini in IX.
3. Emerald Weapon- You either have to fight him with little to no materia, or you have to kill all of his nodes before Aire Tan Storm can be used.
4. Ruby Weapon- He's a challenge, but he's no match for seven mastered counter attack materias and 99 X-Potions.
The hardest boss overall is definately Omega Weapon from V. He has no attack pattern, and he has extremely high physical and magic defense. Really the only way to beat him is to use "SShot", but then he counterattacks four times hitting your characters with confuse even if they have a ribbon equiped. Very hard boss. There's a lot of luck involved here too.

Interesting topic. =^_^=
Since this deals with only the three Final Fantasy games that are made for the PSX (VII, VIII & IX)...
The hardest storyline boss that I ever fought, even with a high level, is Ultimecia from Final Fantasy VIII. Simply because (for that time), the four forms of Ultimecia combined, took me quite a long time to beat, without realizing I overextended my item supply back then.
As for optional bosses, I'll go for Emerald Weapon of Final Fantasy VII. Took me a LOT of tries before I finally beat the guy.

I'm tempted to make a topic about what context do you mean? The hardest to figure out? The hardest to try and fight to get lucky?
If it's not hard to figure it out, the hardest character I fought was a Bracosaur in VI trying to steal 10 more ribbons. It's not hard just tidious.
The one hardest to prepare against and to execute has to be Gogo from FFV trying some attack or a character in the two tower quest of the same game. I had to skip some enemies in the tower that outclassed you at the time.
Overall there are many unique bosses kinda hard in their own way but it's not too bad if you know how to prepare.

Errr...I'd say maybe Ozma from FFIX and the second to last crazy-HP dragon in FFXII (I'd don't have the patience to beat Yiazmat...and its just stupid if you ask me, boss should be hard but not 'hours-long' hard).

One thing thought...idk if FFVIII Omega WPN should be stated as one of the 'hard bosses'. Simply because if you want to beat it you need Holy Wars items and the likes. In other words, if your prepared its only a question of timing to be sure he doesn't attack before you use them. Timing, not skills. Sure, you need to GET theese items....but thats no part of the fight so it doesn't make the actual battle harder.
Personaly I never beat him....only 'cause I take too much pride in having all the cards >__<; and since he doesn't give anything other than the proof you beat him, its like a no brainer somewhat IMO lol. Someday I'll get lucky with my only 'Hero' item and Selphie's The End XDD

our perspectives that separate us. Both sides blame one another.
There's no good or bad side. Just two sides holding different views.'

Here is a tip. If you are on a ps1, while shuffling through slephies limit break, open the disc tray. Everything should stop but it will still allow you to scroll through keep on going till you have "the end". Close the tray and use it. The game will go on like normal and you should win the fight.

Sadly I don't have a PS1 anymore, I play the game on PS2 now. But then again I wouldn't use these kinds of methods to beat a boss, no offense =P

With good preparations I actually found Emerald wpn quite easy. I even nailed the 7777 HP lucky berserk thingy against him O_o god I never saw Barret pwn that much XDD

Using the end is cheap enough don't you think ;D. He is beatable without holy. Take advantage of the health your GFs have.
I agree the two bosses in ff7 are really easy. They can be beat with cloud alone without knights of the round.

Well, The End IS cheap but its an actual ability. So it's still fairplay. Unless some GF can learn the 'Open Disc Tray' ability? ;D
