Nah. I'd much rather see Square focusing on creating original content again, rather than just regurgitating the same characters over and over. And while FFVIII may have sold better than FFVII, that doesn't mean people liked it more. Judging by the many debates I've seen on Internet message boards, FFVIII seemed a lot more controversial.

I still would like to see VIII a movie or something. Because people like how it was made, and it had more than the same shit in each second of the movie unlike the rest.

I'm pretty sure I've heard otherwise, but maybe those figures were out of date. I suppose the hype over Advent Children and the many sequels may have pushed it over the edge.

Seeing as the production of new FFVII CDs ended years ago, official sales of the game wouldn't have increased regardless of Advent Children's hype.

For the record, Final Fantasy VII sold just under 10 million copies in it's run. Final Fantasy VIII sold just under 8 million.

I'm actually hoping that they don't do ANYTHING to VIII. It was my absolute favorite, and I know they'd probably mess it up. Having a movie would kill it for me, too...I'm not impressed with what I have seen of advent children. It just reminds me of an advanced Dragon Ball Z thing. Not pleased in the slightest.

Indeed. I might start offing fanboys, if they touch FF8. It was great. Leave it alone.

Why must people think that ever good game, must have a remake. Man thats just stupid! If a remake of every pop game, then there would be hardly any new games. Keep the classics as they are, and spend more time making new games.

Its the same with music and films. People always think somehow they can improve on the original, more often than not it misses the target completely.

A remake would be nice... But, maybe Square should start concentrating on creating new games, which was probably already said.

Anyway, it would probably be cool, to see Squall and all in PS3 graphics. The opening scene with Squall and Seifer fighting would be awesome...

(Personally, I would like to see a sequel/continuation of FFIX more )

I still enjoy that scene when I turn on the FFVIII. I like to watch the scenes. The game was trully amazing in its time.

The only reason I wouldn't want a remake of this game is because it's a Final Fantasy world I would never, ever care to visit again.

Squall's simple existence makes me want to kill myself any time I so much as hear his name mentioned.
