Well i finnaly got off my lazy butt and owned Sin in FFX yesterday and today i thought 'Hey! I know! I'll go play FFVI again.' So I pop in the FFVI disc into my PS2 and i wait for the game to load but what do i get other than my fav FF game? I get 'Disc Read Error' So i keep trying to no avail , even trying FFV with the same results.

Now I could have sworn i have played it on PS2 before (but i do vaguely remeber getting this error) . Has anyone else had this problem before? If so how do i get rid of it?

If you still have your old Playstation, try it there.
If it doesn't work there either, then the disc is damaged.

Maybe its the way the company formatted the game, cause then it was meant for PS1

My PS2 does that all the time with PS2 and PSX discs. So I'm a bit stuff. It only works if I blow in all of the openings to the PS2, to get dust out. And open the disc tray and blow into there as well.

First, try playing a PS2 game on the PS2, if that doesn't work then your laser may be stcratched and you may need to get your PS2 fixed. I am gonna do that soon.

**NOTE***
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT try to take your PS2 apart, it only messes up the inside and invalidates the warranty.

Despite the warning i took my PS2 apart and fixed the problem!(my waranty was void anyway, cuz i bought it used) I had to adjust the laser's power for reading cds. and it works just fine now.
