I'm level 23 and I'm not even to the part of the game where you say that you should be level 12-15. LOL. I guess this means the Ice Cave should be pretty easy then. |

Actually, you can beat the game at level 27 with the right equipment!
Just be careful on your way. And don't forget to upgrade your characters, if you haven't already done so.
Good luck. |

| He's correct. You have to purchase the fariae (for about 40000 in the old game, don't know about the new) from the merchant in the dessert in the northern continents. |

I've had a similar problem actually. I looked up a walk through, but it was based on the nintendo version, not the PSP version, and I'm praying that's where my faulter is. I've gone to the desert and tried to land in every single square that I can (literally going square by square), I've traveled backwards and forwards through that damn pit of sand a million and a half times and still no random merchant trying to sell me the fairy.
I sincerly thought that their may be a very serious bug in the PSP version, until I saw videoes on Youtube, showing people fighting chaos and other bad guys further in the game. It's very frustating and if anyone, anyone at all can help, I'd greatly appreciate it. Please? |

Don't over-level your characters before class change. Your stat growth improves after class change. The more leveling you can save for after class change, the more powerful your characters will be. The wisdom of waiting until after class change is particularly applicable to the NES version, which is much harder than the remakes.

Are you in the right desert? The correct desert is the one on the northwestern continent. I have not played the PSP version, but in the NES, PS1, and GBA versions, the caravan is in a circle of sand surrounded by grass, trees (to the east), and mountains (to the north). You can land in a patch of grass at the southern edge of the desert.
