Who and where are all the optional characters that join the party? Is there a way to have The sword Raganarok and the esper Ragarok without cheating? Also, what is the strongest sword?

I would google, but I'm on a library computer and my resources are very limited.

The first time you can recruit Mog is in the World of Balance.  Spoiler : click to show/hide [ You need to have obtained the airship. Go through Narche and you'll find Lone Wolf at that one treasure box you can't open. He'll run away; keep chasing him up to the northmost point of the town, where they're hiding the Phantom Beast, and you'll find him with Mog. Don't go after the "Gold Hairpin," it's crap. ]

The second time you can recruit him is  Spoiler : click to show/hide [ in the World of Ruin. He'll be hiding in the moogle caves regardless of whether you recruited him in the previous world, but if you haven't recruited him in the previous world there's no way to get Aqua Dance or whatever it's called. Except in FF6 Advance. ]

Umaro can be recruited after you recruit Mog the second time.  Spoiler : click to show/hide [ Go up to the Phantom Beast at the top of Narche, fight it, win, and then head down the cave. After exploring a bit you'll fall into a room with a bone-carving made from the Magirock of a Phantom Beast. Examine it, and you'll fight Umaro. After you win, he simpers in a corner, unless you have Mog in your party, in which case he whips him into shape and gets him to join your party. ]

Gogo can be recruited only in  Spoiler : click to show/hide [ the World of Ruin as well. Get swallowed by a Zone Eater on the triangular island to the northeast, and there's a series of puzzles you'll have to run through in order to recruit him. It helps to have Sprint Shoes enabled for some of them. Be especially careful about the falling ceilings - if any of them crush you, it's game over. ]

Check gamefaq's.com on FF3 on where to get the characters. Besides  Spoiler : click to show/hide [ Celes, Edgar, and Setzer all other characters are optional in the World of Ruin. ] .

You must choose one or the other of Ragnarok. Ragnarok becomes the best sword Illumina if you win it by betting at the Collesuem.

Well, unless you're lucky enough to get it through the Sketch glitch... but that has the potential to erase all your save files as well, so I wouldn't recommend it

Also, on the load screen. Sometimes a little guy in red armor appears, is he a special character to Final Fantasy Anathology?
I picked this game up a while ago and traded it to a friend for FFVII, and now I feel stupid for doing it. FF6 was way more enjoyable than FF7.

I think he's supposed to be the Onion Knight from FFIIIj, but I could be mistaken about that

Man, they think I'm a girl. They got my personality right though. At least she's kinda hot. But not as hot as Yuna. Yuna has that "different colored eyes" thing going and that's kinda sexy. Plus she dresses less sluttily and is kinda intelligent. Gotta break me off a piece of that. I never did like Lulu. She was a little bit too creepy. Like, she'd get it on with you, then stick a knife in your chest or hit you with Thundaga. Paine kinda reminds me of Lulu Jr, or Pink or something like that. And that's just strange, and not really all that sexy.

Yup, he is supposed to be the Onion Knight from FFIIIj. Fun game, that FFIIIj. As for the strongest sword in FF6, that would be the Ultima (Atma) Weapon. I also enjoyed FF6 more than 7.

With this information I can safely assume you are either masochistic or elitist. And yes I know full well it's a pointlessly insulting judegement, but hey that's how I work
