Now I've just got to master all the remaining jobs for each character (they each have about half of them mastered), but I'll let that wait until the Cleft of Dimensions.

To give this thread a topic, have you ever bothered leveling up your characters to level 99 in any Final Fantasy game?

It took me like an hour to master all the jobs after that, and I've already gotten through like half the third world and cleared everything in the Cleft of Dimensions (I leveled up at the very end of the second world because that's the fastest place to do it). Um. Yeah.

I got... most of my characters up to level 99 in FFVIII, but that's about it. I was trying to max stats in FFX, but that'll probably take a while more. Haven't bothered with VI, VII and IX though. I should replay VI someday.

And the oldschool FF games, don't forget those.

How the **** did you manage that anyway? And without mastering all the jobs either! The highest I've ever gotten my team to in that game is around level 40, and that's with at least half of every job class maxed out for each character.

Is there some super brilliant leveling up location in FFV that I've missed? Because I find levelling up to be extremely slow in that game myself.

The only FF's I've managed that in our FFVII and FFVIII, but that's not saying much, considering how easy it is to do so in both of them.

Good God.

To answer your question, no. I just can't motivate myself to level up for that long..... I bet the highest I managed to get in any game was about Lv 60 or something like that.

I admire your patience. =D

Kuzar Castle in World 2. What you do is, you put Heal Rods on all your characters, have them as Bares, and leave their only ability as Control. Then, you have all four characters use Flame on ShieldDragons, which kills them after five iterations. They still only give 2,500 experience to each character apiece, but when you're running in Turbo Mode, it goes by really quickly. You also don't have to worry about healing your characters, because Hard Hit makes your characters hit each other, and therefore heal each other. So you can pretty much leave the game constantly in Turbo Mode.

After I'd gotten to Level 99, it really took me almost no time at all to master all the Jobs; indeed, I literally flew through the entire third world and in fact, I was able to go through the entire Cleft of Dimensions without any problem long before I bothered with most of the third world, which enabled me to get to the fastest-moving ABP point in the game and master all the jobs almost immediately. Here's a screenshot with everything mastered:

As you can see, it only took about twelve hours of gameplay to do the entire Cleft of Dimensions and most of the third world (I think I missed out a few sidequests). So yeah.

In retrospect, I probably wouldn't do it again; it takes most of the challenge out of the game. But it was mindless and cathartic.
