I'm pretty sure that he's just the Gogo from FFV, which I think is a male. The main reason I think Gogo's a male though? The male Mime class in FFT looks EXACTLY like him. Whilst the female Mime class looks completely different.
But FFIII was released before FFV so how can you compare him with that. I think square created him/her to make us think hard about him/her...

gogo is a mime and the mimes does not have a sex !!lol (and if all the characters survived a end of the world why not daryl survived in a low crush?)

FFV wasn't released after FFVI (FFIII as you call it). Maybe in AMERICA, but not released. It was released in Japan.

FFII was like FFIV so FFII was released before FFIII and FFIV.
