Final Fantasy Unlimited: An insult to a great name?

Considering that this is a Final Fantasy forum, what'd you guys think of this anime so far (12 eps. released)? Is it something that complements the Final Fantasy name well, or does it damage the series' reputation?
As for me, I think it's OK. It's pretty repetitive, but I've made a little game of trying to guess the summons.  I'd say it only complements the name to an extent, since it borrows the summons (which look NOTHING like the summons in the games. |

| I haven't even seen the two OVA's of the FF anime yet. And now there is another series of it coming out. SWEET!!! I am going to order the OVA's. I can't wait for this series to hit the shelves. |

Heh...from what I know, the series is just hitting the shelves in Japan. You can only download subbed versions for now.
As for the OVAs, I haven't seen them either. |

| What i find more insulting is that the name of the series is Final Fantasy but they keep coming out with more games!!! |

I've not seen _anything_ of it, sadly, cos the only way I could get it is through DivX-downloads 
I've got a song of the OST though, and I find it rather cool. If the anime itself is equal to that song, I'll definitely like it ^_^ |

| I doubt an anime would "hurt" [notice I used quotations] FF's name as much as a it's many poorly made games. Because, once you bother to look at them all many FF's are not great. |

Erh, I wouldn't bet on that. I also wouldn't say one's opinion is wrong without actual proof to show the difference of fact and non.
But I believe that my opinion stands firm. I speak to many gamers and not one of them has ever liked the entire series let alone an exception of a few. Many people like Final Fantasy's true. But how many like Final Fantasy [the whole series]. 1-10+Tactics and Mystical Quest + (some other FF title...forgot what it's called.)
Most will pick about 3 to 5 of the games in that series of 12-14 games. That isn't alot, nor is it enough to say you like an entire series of something when it isn't true.
"I love Final Fantasys!!" is a myth, however "I love some/most/a certian title of Final Fanatasy" is a well known fact.
But this is spamming, so I'll stop myself ahead of time. |

| Final Fantasy Unlimited is super confusing and sux ass....but FujiTV is throwing out RahXephon. I hear it's horrifically sweet...anyone with Satalite and can see FujiTV...watch it! |

Papercut, you've got it quite wrong there, for real. Most people that have played a Final Fantasy game, haven't played all of them. Many have only played 3 or 4 of the FF's, entirely. So their saying "nah I only like this one and this one" has no value, for their judgement about something they have 0 knowledge of should not be counted in the equation.
Now, I've spoken to a lot of people that have played all of the FF's, or nearly all of them. I haven't heard a single one of them go "nah, only these two or three were good, the rest sucked." - rather, they all said "I find this one and this one my favorites" which indicates, quite evidently I would say, that they also liked the others, but just not as much. You're making it look like they DISLIKED any FF that is not their favorite, but that's just so not true. It might be true for some people, and it might be coincidentally all the people you've met, but it's definitely not true for the majority. |

If it isn't on someones favorite list, they didn't like it obviously. Since the favorite list composes of what that person likes, anything they don't like wont be on the list. There is the intermediate list though that composes of the persons likings as well, but the response is usually "it was okay but I don't plan on playing it again".
Anything above intermediate of what that person likes will be played over and over again. Anything in interemediate will have good memories but will more than likely not be played over again.
Anything below that will get thrown in the trash because it was a piece of ****.
I hear all the time from people who play those games "FF7 sucked soooooo much ass it was horrible but FF6 and 8 were okay" or "FF4 is god compared to the other crap on that series like 8, 9, and 5" |
