Pretty simple, really. Post songs that you think utilize dissonance in a highly effective manner. I'll start.

Borknagar - Ad Noctum
Opeth - The Drapery Falls
Sonic Youth - Trilogy

The Mars Volta - Cut that City/Eunuch Provovatuer/Inertiatic ESP/Drunkship of Lanterns/Cicatriz ESP/Take the Veil Cerpin Taxt/Cygnus... Vismund Cygnus/****, their entire discography including ATDI save maybe four or five ****ing songs.

Pink Floyd - Interstellar Overdrive

I'll think of more later.

Most Immolation songs. Best use dissonance ever. It reduces 99% of all blackmetal to music for little children. It sounds so incredibly dark and threatening. Early Incantation use quite a lot of dissonance, too.

I'm not snobby enough to know what dissonance means.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consona...nce#Dissonance

basically, it means the use of sounds that aren't harmonic on their face. Ugly sounds, in other words

Someone told me to check them out a long time ago. Really should get around to that. Should do the same for Immolation, I guess.

And good call on TMV (especially Take the Veil) and Interstellar Overdrive.

Oh wow, good call on Stravinsky and Miles. I'd have to go with *****es Brew as the best example of dissonance in his music (particularly the title track and "Miles Runs the Voodoo Down").
