anyone here seen Sin City? i thought the stories were awesome and that the film drew out some of the best performances from some actors in years (nick stahl, bruce willis, mickey rourke) and was also a pretty faithful representation of the comic books.

i'd not even heard of the books before the film, but i did read them before i saw the film and i think the books are awesome too.

so yeah, any fans of the comics/film here?

I've only seen the film, and visually, it was a masterpiece. My only problem was it dragged on a little... I can only watch it once every couple of months because I get bored with it.

I still need to see the film. And I should probably download the comics as well.

Very entertaining movie, definitely the best movie that came out that year. I never read the comics though, but the atmosphere of the movie is really awesome. The characters are really memorable. I could imagine they picked out the perfect actors for teh characters. I really need to read the comics someday.

Like The Doctor, I hadn't read the comics.
Yet, when I heard about the film - The trailer looked pretty awesome. I went straight out and bought them.
I've pretty much got all the book/comics now, the only one I need to get is very expensive - The last one : To Hell And Back.
The film was amazing, even cramming three stories in they managed to do it well.

I wasn't too enthusiastic about it but when I actually watched it, I was impressed. The visual style is brilliant, very comic book, and some of the performances were excellent, like Rourke's.

Some of my favourite characters, for some reason, were the hookers - the idea they worked for themselves and protected themselves was pretty cool. Kick ass prostitutes ftw.

So yeah, good movie. Made me want to check the graphic novels out.

I thought the film was gipped at the Oscars, but then again, what does the Academy know about quality films? It didn't even get a Best Cinematography nomination, nor did Mickey Rourke get his well deserved Best Actor nomination.

Real shame. But, again, what does the Academy know?

I really liked it alot. It had a great visual style and the stories were cool, if not exactly the Chinatown of originality. Every time I watch it, though, Clive Owen's narration bugs me. It's way too mellow. Mickey Rourke did a fantastic job on all accounts and it's his best performance of his career.

Pure class film. Put together brilliantly. I love how its like black and white and then bits of colour in there now and again and stuff. Great effect. I'd say its one of my favourite films easily. Bruce willis is great in it too.
