The all-time best one, in my opinion, has to be the bass solo from Maxwell Murder by Rancid. Matt Freeman really outdoes himself there.

one picks a bass solo, one just names a band, and the other ignores the topic completely. hmm i wonder if people even know what guitar solos are anymore?

my personal favorite is zakk's solo in ozzy's no more tears. i also love kirk's solo in metallica's one and slash's in november rain.

Adam Jones.

I have far too many favourite solos and soloists to pick just one.

Bass and guitar are 2 different instruments. Maybe say bass and guitar are both included in the first post smartass.

Favorite solo - Coheed And Cambria - "2113"

get your instruments straight.. and stop being such dumbasses.. if you can't tell the difference between a bass, a guitar, a solo and a band. then you shouldn't be posting in here..

Hm.. I'd have to go with Steve Vai's solo in the song "For the Love of God".. but then again that whole song is him soloing basically...

David gilmours solo in "comfortabl numb" is just pure brilliance.. for al of you who know the song.. well I don't think I need to describe it .. and for all you that haven't heard the song.. well you SUCK... cause you're missing out on some of the best music created ever
