Could somebody explain to me the attraction of Dragonball Z? Ive seen one or two episodes of it and NOTHING seems to happen. I can see the flying battle type thing looks pretty cool. But it takes about 5 episodes to have one fight.

Maybe I'm just impatient, but, with the amount of DBZ fanboys I meet on the net, you would think that the show would be a little more engaging.

This is not ment to slam DBZ in any way, nor is it ment as flamebait. I would really like to know what people think about the show...

I got hooked on it when there wasin't any battles going on. I will admit that if you tune in durring one of the longer than necessary battles, it can be seen as very boring. That was my first impression when I tuned into it. The first eps. I watched was when Goku was charging up the Spirit Bomb agianst Freza for the first time. Now that was an unbeliveable borring episode to tune into. But, if you were to say tune in at the start of the android or cell saga, BEFORE any major battles start, it can get you hooked... Atleast, it did for me.

lol i look back at DBZ and figure out now that it was a big soup for guys. The first episode i saw was of Goku and Vegita fight in the Saiyan saga. I was hooked. It was the 1st time i had seen an anime and there was blood and swearing.Thats how i got into it.

I wish I got to see the very first fight between Goku and Vegita... It must have been a really good fight. Vegita is such a cool character XD

I missed pretty much the whole saiyan saga except the first few eps. with Raditz in it >_< I pretty much tuned in durring the Freiza saga.

Don't worry the saiyan saga wasn't so great. The English was really bad. The animation wasn't so hot ether. Im sure there are lots of anime music video with it in it. Try and find the "Cure for the itch" video by neo Gohan. Its got most of it in it.

I've seen all the 276 DBZ episodes, it's a great anime to start with. But if you compare it with Cowboy Beebop it's totally crap. The succes of DBZ is probably because it's the only anime sent out over the whole world. It's not a hard story to follow and the battles are nice for the young audience. It's a shame the serie ended so utterly stupid. I wish Gohan became the main character. Gohan was meant to be the main character but the writter changed it back to Goku since some Japanees fanboys were complaining they wanted Goku as main character. So the writter made Gohan a highly intelligent student instead of the mighty fightingmachine he could have been.

No, you're wrong, the American version has 276 episodes. The Japanese version has 291 episodes, but I don't think you watched the Japanese, did you?
