Grin  Best Music Era?
04.25.03, 05:06:09

We all have favourite tunes from eras previous to our current...
The 60's featured the Beatles and the British Invasion
The 70's Punk hit in but died as soon as the
80's came with it's disco fever...

And of course there was more before that...
But which music era is your personal fav?

I'm going with late 70's.... Dunno why though

Hmmm.... I'll go with 60's or 70's... Disco and 80's rocky give me a headache alotta times. Not to say that I don't like a few 80's rock songs... Just not very many.

It was Pop, New Wave and New Romantic, actually ;D

I think the early 90s gave us a lot of good music. Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Green Day =DD I can say no more ;D
The late 70s also gave us some pretty good stuff. Not as good mind you ;D But still... =P

For me it would be the Era of Classical Music, which has survived even until now, with vicious Rock and Dance music poisoning my ears, until I am relieved by the sound of a wonderful orchestra.
Say what you want, I don't care.

I like the late 80's early 90's era
most of the bands I listen to came out of that era, and lots of good albums came from it

The whole seatle invasion was started then with bands like
Pearl Jam
Stone Temple Pilots
Soundgarden
Alice In Chains
Jane's Addiction..
and of course nirvana

along with them sprouted new bands brom all over like the smashing pumkins
radiohead..etc etc..

But that period was not all alternative rock and grunge. There is a hefty arsenal of great metal bands and albums that came out of that era. It was after all that "who can play thier axe faster" bit and some really good stuff started to emerge..

Dream Theater was born in that era along with Guns and Roses..
Steve Vai started his solo project and came out with one of the most brilliant instumental bits ever with "Passion and Warfare".
Metallica came out with their earthshattering black album..
Pantera emerges
and so a lot of other bands..

I'm not saying that this is the best era ever.. It just happens that most of the music I listen to came from or just passed through that era..

The 80's wasn't full of glamour hair bands ... there were some fantastics at that time like old Metallica. The Cure, Pixies, U2.
