Well we've all seen those whats your favorite anime threads. But I want to know something. Why? What makes you enjoy this show above all else? Instead of just listing stuff, why not give a brief description as to why you like it? I'll begin first.
Kiddy Grade: Well I found myself attracted to this series for plenty of reasons, the slick animation was the thing that caught my eye at first. Though at first it seems like a fan-service type of show, it does grow to more than you would expect. Despite the first 8 episodes being slow, I found myself to like the plot after it got started, It was unique and exciting in a way. The music wasn't too special but it fit well with the series. The ending left me confused a bit but I still enjoyed this series from begining to end, it had it's dark moments, it has it's light moments, everything seems to blend in perfectly. And another reason. Eclair. ^^;; (well it doesn't have to be that long) |

I enjoyed Kiddy Grade for the same reasons Altaizen as well as the character designs, theme and plot. It just caught my attention, although I prefer Lumiere over Eclair. Eclair is a little...loud, and as Lumiere would say, 'not elegant'.
As far as other animes ago, lets look at my favourite Anime, or at least one of them.
D.N.Angel: The animation is quite good, but there is some room for improvement, I must say. Character designs are pretty good and story and plot haven't been modified too much since the manga was released. It was indeed, the manga, that caught my attention before the anime, nifty story and cool characters that got me hooked on it for the last year or so. Now that the Anime has been released, I'm all over it all over again.
Thats my reasons. =D |

I have three favorites (four depending on how you count 'em), so I guess I'll go through all of them.
Slayers: I first got into the third season of this series (Slayers TRY) because of the character of Filia Ul Copt. She's so much like me at times that it's scary! I loved her dynamic with Xellos, too. I started to grow attached to the other characters in the series the more I saw it. It's not a particularly deep series, but it's not moronic either, and the wild humor is a lot of fun. I'd have to say that I like it mostly because of the characters and the humor.
Neon Genesis Evangelion: The characters are awesome, superbly developed (if not borderline psychotic). The plot is well-constructed but unpredictable, and I enjoyed the conspiracy element. I'm also one of those weird types that likes having her head messed with, and Eva does plenty of that. End of Evangelion is bar none the most disturbing movie I have seen in my entire life. So I like Evangelion for... everything, pretty much.
Bubblegum Crisis: (OVA) I'm an 80's brat, and it shows. (Yes, I even like the music in this series.) I love the action element and the darker futuristic tone of the series. I really like the animation and designs as well; there's just something about that somewhat dated look that appeals to me. The plot might have been rather interesting if the series had been completed. My favorite things here would be the action and the tone.
(2040) I like the TV series for mostly the same reasons as I like the OVA, but it has much better character development, plus a more complete plot, although I was disappointed in the last few episodes. I think the English dub is pretty good (I prefer it to the Japanese dialogue). It's not the shining example of anime near-perfection that Evangelion is, but something about this series just makes me very attached to it.
I wish I could figure out a way to shorten this post without leaving stuff out... |

I like Poke'mon because for me at the time it was just what I needed. I wasn't "into" anything at the time, and so in it came! What keeps me ever faithful to it is the loving friendships of Ash and his Poke'mon, the funny antics of Team Rocket, and seeing when after a couple seasons the fun things that are going to happen to Ash and Misty ^^ Oo!
Yu-Gi-Oh because at the time I started to watch, I needed the message of friendship more than anything. What keeps me hoocked is the friendships, ever thickning plot, mind troging (okaying so thats not a word) card battles, and I'm in love with Yami ^^ |

Trigun, that's my favorite anime. I think I like it because it stirs up a lot of emotion. I like the shows that really get to you. Like when I watch a show and something bad happens to the main character, my stomach turns. I don't get sick or anything. That's how I judge a good show. That's what Trigun is to me. |
